Well, long story short, I took this photo while celebrating New Year's Eve
My only wish was "Last 10 years my fatty"... But one week later after the celebration, Briana got sick, started vomiting overnight and I ran to the vet to see what's was happening.
The diagnosis was an Intestinal Tumor, a malignant tumor for the quick growth, but we weren't sure. The truth is that the only treatment for this was surgery.
I had to take the respective exams to be able to submit Briana to surgery.
Because the infection she showed in the hematology was very important (14% "bands"), we delayed the surgery for a couple of days to see if the infection decrease a little bit... but after a week she was exactly like the beginning... so we hadn't more options than start the surgery immediately.
I was afraid, everything happened so quickly, but I was ready to fight with her and go through this shit together.
She was so nervous in this photo because she knew I was nervous too.
I left her at 9am and I got a message from the doctor at 12pm.
Everything went well... THANKS GOD!
I don't know if you want to see the photos of the surgery because not everyone want to see things like that haha, let me know in the comments if you want to!
I was incredibly happy; you can't imagine how relieved I was.
Briana had to stay that night in the clinic to be through observation, but they let me visit her after the surgery
The next day, I took her home, she was still in pain, they removed a big part of the intestine, so I understood how she felt.
It really broke my heart to see her like that...
but a few days later after administering her antibiotics and analgesics, she was gaining strength.
She was now the old fat lady she always has being! I'm so happy.
This Monday she finishes her treatment and from now on I have to take her to monthly ecogram control to be sure there isn't any metastasis.
No matter what happens next, I'm grateful i can have her a little longer.
