Misinterpret
I love it
I used to think
I was above it

Salacious serpents
Scorch my tongue
Time the grand illusion
My life undone

Looking back
All I ever wanted
Was to be one
To feel whole
But something subverted self-control

Horrid visions and scattered dreams
Indeed I love them
They don't demean

Mother nature cannot be trusted
Though I love her
She leaves a trail of destruction
She learned it from us

Expression is fluid
Expectation is solid
It's square / box-shaped

Candor does mortify
Unless it's synthesized
I am only human
I have made mistakes
I have regrets
And I don't want to live in them

They cannot be erased
But I cannot
I must not
Live in them

With every baby step I take
Someone is there to push me into a corner
But they act like it wasn't right
For me to react
For me to push them back

If I really cared about this being artsy
I wouldn't be so damn transparent

This is a catharsis
Like lyrics screamed over blast beats
I cannot I will not meet defeat

But my biggest obstacle is me

It is habit
It is breaking the chains
Without becoming deranged

It is taking that first step
I should have taken 15 years ago
It's about not living in the past
Though the past follows us all

And if history repeats
Perhaps I can learn from it

Or perhaps I will perish for the lack of knowledge
An overabundance
