Self-Generative Modular Synth Patch
This is an ambient self-generative synth patch that I created a few weeks ago.
I've been experimenting with this complex network of interconnected modules and exploring how many different variations, tones and timbers that can be expressed with this combination.
Self-generative music is an alternative approach to music composition, similar to the way a traditional composer
transcribes notes onto staff paper, the modular synth composer interconnects modules to create rules, randomness,
tones, and textures that morph the composition into unpredictable directions as the modules influence each other via control voltage, a variable voltage signal that is used to control behaviors ranging from the pitch of oscillators to the
cutoff setting of filters and more.
This is an earlier version of the self-generative patch with a rhythmic and glitchy sonic pallette with LFO
assisted tempo shifts that explore a much more energetic and abrassive feel in this piece.
I have a few more examples of this patch that I will post in the next part of this series exploring another ambient piece and a demonstration on how to add a drum machine to the patch to give some structure to the random nature of this patch.
