"Kaleidoscopic" by @nicklewis is on BlockTunes right now. Worth your ears: https://app.blocktunes.net/masters/nicklewis_modulations_kaleidoscopic?ref=nicklewis
I snuck out another ambient track last night that I created entirely on the iPad and there are 10 masters available this time but only 5 have been released for sale on the Blocktunes platform. I’ll probably release the others later on. Let’s see.
The track itself was created using a handful of plugins and I used a sequencer to write the main melody, feeding that into two instances of Scatterbrain. This plugin does some clever things, mainly converting the incoming notes in a variety of ways to create variations that are in key.
Sometimes I’ll use test tools to capture the mixture of composed and generative into a new sequence that’s then stored and not adjusted any further, other than I might edit some of the notes. It then feeds back into the process of manual composition once again.
I guess a lot of people do this?
On top of all that I used one synth based on an old analogue machine, a piano and some samples that I recorded in Cyprus a few years ago, featuring people in a hotel lobby.
