BlitzPredict

What is BlitzPredict?

BlitzPredict is a platform looking to disrupt the sports-betting industry. They are developing a solution to allow for instant liquidity on bets, and by using their aggregator, you will find the best odds available at the time of your bet through their smart contract. This platform is built by using blockchain technology on the Ethereum network.

The Team

I wanted to focus in on two of their team members- Brett Richey, and Anthony Hurtado, as well as their advisor Phil Hellmuth.

Brett Richey

Before getting into the business world, Mr. Richey worked as a professional poker player for 11 years. Pretty fitting for him to create BlitzPredict, right? After he finished up his poker career, he founded an application, which is available on both iOS and Android devices, called BlitzPick (https://www.blitzpick.co/) where he had worked as the President of the organization. This app uses a Distributed File System (DFS) which allows users to build the best possible fantasy team and build lineups whether its on DraftKings or FanDuel. Personally, I would like to see him have a one or two more leadership roles in his resume, but his connections through playing professional poker will definitely aid him in building the BlitzPredict platform- also definitely helps that he helped to create a functioning application as well!

Anthony Hurtado

Having to take over the role of Director of Business Development for Mr. Hurtado will be no surprise for him. He has previously worked for Raster Media where he worked as their (you guessed it!) Director of Business Development. After this, he took over the role of CEO at Mobile Yield Strategies, and later on, the Director of Business Intelligence at Evus Technologies. Mr. Hurtado is in charge of building partnerships with different organizations, as well as compliance for BlitzPredict, and creating financial models for the organization.

Phil Hellmuth

This advisory position is definitely a good sign for the BlitzPredict platform. Mr. Hellmuth is currently a professional poker player, and will really help aid with expanding the users on their network! One thing I do want to hope out of him, since he has nearly 300k followers on Twitter, is that he retweet some of the major announcements from BlitzPredict's Twitter account! That exposure would be great for the organization- and since he is an advisor on their platform, it would benefit him as well. However, I am not sure that this is required out of him, but it would be great for building their community.

The Problem

In sports betting, one of the biggest problems is almost all of the platforms are done through centralized entities. In addition, when trying to analyze the market for the best lines for different types of things you can bet on- whether it's sports, crypto, eSports, and even politics, you will spend so much time finding which one is best for you to use! Making matters even worse, when dealing with centralized betting platforms it can take so much time to end up receiving your payouts from winning a bet- no one wins, except for the centralized platform.

BlitzPredict is here to give a solution for all these problems! Whether it is through their aggregator, BlitzPay, transparent liquidity, as well as accurate expert analysis, BlitzPredict is here to make sports betting better for everyone!

Aggregator

The aggregator applied to the BlitzPredict model will be completely customizable for the user- you can have your odds in decimals or "American". For example, "New England is trading at 67% on Gnosis, while users viewing American odds would see New England -205". With this aggregator, users will be able to access the best lines possible for any bet, because of BlitzPredict's smart contract. They will be having various bet lines coming in from different sources, and will always show the best one on the market. The great part about the BlitzPredict platform is that they already have a functioning platform! You can check out their Beta here: https://app.blitzpredict.io/dashboard. You can already see the different experts and their bets. You can bet on Hockey, Basketball, and Baseball games on the platform.

BlitzPay

BlitzPay is definitely one of the special parts about their platform that separates them from some of their competitors. When a user activates the BlitzPay, they will receive payout immediately after the event is over- so you don't have to wait for your money! The pretty awesome part about BlitzPredict is that you don't only have to use the XBP token to bet on their platform- you just need to use XBP to activate BlitzPay. You can bet with other currencies, whether its BTC, ETH, or USD.

If you have a great history in sports betting than this is the platform for you! You can be rewarded in XBP by sharing your "expert" bets with the community. With BlitzPredict, you can't lie about the teams you bet on, and you can be rewarded for sharing your expert opinion on sports analytics with those who are interested! First, experts stake their XBP and give their opinions to the community, and depending on how popular your models are, you can get rewarded! The best part about this, is there is no worry about the experts "forging their opinion"! By using the underlying blockchain technology you know exactly what they bet on. You also know that these experts are putting themselves out there and actually betting and not just sitting on the sidelines forking in money for their opinion on games- putting their money where their mouth is!

The Token

As stated before, BlitzPredict uses the ERC-20 token, XBP, on their platform, which has a total supply of 1,000,000,000. The XBP token is a PoS (Proof of Stake) token, and allows the user to access exclusive features that will be added to the BlitzPredict platform once they are operational. Other staking options for the XBP token are through the different tournaments that will be held on the BlitzPredict platform. The two other staking options are, just regular staking to increase the liquidity of BlitzPay, and the experts who stake their XBP to share their bets.
