The photo I want to share in this week's Around The World Challenge is of the Mae Lamu Pagoda, located in North Okkapa Township, Mayangone District, Yangon Region.

ဒီတပတ် Around The World Challenge မှာ ကျွန်တော်မျှဝေချင်တဲ့ ဓာတ်ပုံကတော့ ရန်ကုန်တိုင်းဒေသကြီး၊ မရမ်းကုန်းခရိုင်၊ မြောက်ဥက္ကာပမြို့နယ်အတွင်းမှာ တည်ရှိတဲ့ ဆုတောင်းပြည့် မယ်လမုစေတီတော် ရဲ့ ဓာတ်ပုံပဲဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

When I was in Yangon about two months ago, I visited Mae Lamu Pagoda at around 7:30 in the morning. Since it was early in the morning, there were only a few pilgrims there. Since there were only a few people, it was very convenient for me, who loves taking photos. The sun was just starting to rise from the east, but there were few clouds so I didn't feel the heat of the sun.

လွန်ခဲ့တဲ့နှစ်လခန့်က ရန်ကုန်မြို့ကို ရောက်ရှိနေချိန်မှာ နံနက် ၇ နာရီ ၃၀ ခန့်မှာ မယ်လမုဘုရားကို ဘုရားဖူးရောက်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ နံနက်စောစောအချိန်ဖြစ်နေတဲ့အတွက် ဘုရားဖူးလာရောက်သူ အနည်းငယ်ခန့်သာရှိနေခဲ့ပါတယ်။ လူအနည်းငယ်သာရှိနေချိန်ဖြစ်တဲ့အတွက် ဓာတ်ပုံရိုက်ရတာဝါသနာပါတဲ့ ကျွန်တော့်အတွက်တော့ အလွန် အဆင်ပြေစေပါတယ်။ နေမင်းကြီးက အရှေ့အရပ်ဆီကနေ ထွက်ပေါ်စအချိန်ဖြစ်ပေမယ့် တိမ်အနည်းငယ်ရှိနေတဲ့အတွက် နေရဲ့အပူရှိန်ကိုတော့ မခံစားရပါဘူး။

The history of the Maelamu Pagoda is a legendary story involving the great Sage Tissarathea, Sakra, Maelamu, who was conceived in a mangrove tree and born from a thorny plant, Maelamu's son Okkalapa, Prince Nanda, and a huge crocodile named Nga Moe Yeik.
