However, true obedience comes from conviction or faith. In the Bible, we see that love and obedience are more like Siemen twins that cannot be separated. No man can say he has love for God when he disobeys God's instructions. There is nothing we cannot give up when love is involved. When we love God, our lusts and evil pleasures will be easy to abandon.

1 John 5:1-5 ( KJV )

1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

John gave us an equation that can help us examine ourselves daily. He says if we love God, we must love God's children. One way to know that we have love is when we obey God's commandments. John also said that it is not possible to love God if we are not born of God. He added that if we are not born of God, we cannot overcome world, and we cannot be born until we first believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
