Being in the world of smartphones make us so drawn to it and nowadays I feel like I cannot stay away from my phone. In fact i think everyone is so attached with their smartphones but as long as we set a limit in the usage and be constantly aware of important time to put it away and then we won’t be feeling guilty in being so attached to the smartphone. We have to learn to control but still we should know how to prevent injuries which can cause long term discomfort.

What should i do? Here are some ergonomics tips that you should be aware of to help prevent injuries from overusing your smartphone.
Talking On The Phone
- To prevent neck muscle strain – avoiding holding the phone with your head.
- Use a hands free kit or Bluetooth headset in long conversations.
Using Smartphone Features - Texting, playing games, surfing internet etc

When you do hold the phone, raise it to your chest to minimize extreme neck bending.
Alternate between finger and thumb use – don’t always use your thumbs.
Keep your wrists straight while holding and looking at the screen.
Adjust the brightness to a level that is easy to see.
Take breaks – every 15 minutes for 2-3 minutes.
