The news that goes out to the rest of the world is not always the truth- everybody think we are this country where white people hate black people and we want apartheid back - That is not true.
I grew up during apartheid and was taught to handle all people with respect. There is a lot of things I do not agree with during that time but our country was not in the state it is now, our government did not make everybody more poor. More work for everybody.
Big businesses flourished, we never were without electricity or water etc. Now everything is going down the drain.
We visited a place on Saturday and there were a group of black Americans, They were so shocked when we just started talking to them, even looked frightened. Most of us get along and want peace but there are the rotten apples that intimidate the weak.
They just do not think about the future - it is just how much they can get now. Billions are wasted. Our country had enough money for everybody but now just a few benefit.
But it is still my country and I still see a lot of good. People helping one another because the cannot rely on the government. The funny thing is I see more white people helping black people than what their own people does, but still they blame everything on apartheid.
Really..... it has been 25 years , so get over it and stop living in the past and rather see what is going on now. I want to puke if I have to do a lesson on Apartheid in class - I let the kids read it by themselves and we rather concentrate on the future - I give them the general history because we all need to know about it, but I cannot dwell on it and the books are written so one sided, it is always how bad the whites are.
But yes I agree, only God can safe us and for now we are just thankful to have a job and be safe.
The rest of the world has no idea how criminals are getting away in this country. Sometimes I wish another country will just take us and make us a colony again hahaaha
