Greetings, dear crafting community!I wish you all a wonderful day. In today’s tutorial—returning to drawing after quite some time—I’ll show you how I created this illustration of Gaara from the popular series Naruto. I truly enjoyed working on this piece; it reminded me how long it had been since I last dedicated time to this kind of activity, which serves as a form of therapy for me.

Even though I had also been devoting time to my brother's school projects, I felt the need to get back to this type of drawing so I wouldn't lose a talent I rarely use—though lately, as I mentioned, I’ve set out to take on school projects and more as a source of work alongside my sewing business. It is something I truly enjoy doing, and I know you enjoy sharing in the process with me, which always turns out to be so rewarding.
Aside from Deidara and Obito, I’m also quite fond of this character from the Naruto series. Since Gaara’s backstory is rather long, I’ll just provide a brief summary—no need to go into too much detail! In any case, fans of the series will already be very familiar with this character and the role he played in Naruto Shippuden. 🤭

Gaara (我愛羅)
Gaara (我愛羅)
Also known as "Gaara of the Desert" (砂漠の我愛羅, Sabaku no Gaara), he is a character from the Naruto manga, created by Masashi Kishimoto. He was conceived as a foil to the protagonist, Naruto Uzumaki; although both were born under similar circumstances, they developed vastly different personalities based on how each interpreted their respective personal struggles.
While he was still in his mother's womb, his father attempted to turn him into a human weapon by implanting a tailed beast within him. As a result, Gaara was mistreated by the villagers, which eventually led him to become a ruthless killer—slaying anyone without a shred of remorse—while also harboring contempt for his siblings, Kankurō and Temari.
However, the battle against Naruto led him to change his perspective, prompting him to begin helping others in an effort to emulate Naruto’s own attitude. In the second part of the story, he serves as the Fifth Kazekage. Gaara has also appeared in various media related to Naruto, including the second film based on the series, the third original animation, and multiple video games.
Without further ado, I hope you enjoy the process—which was created for you with love. Here are the materials:

✧ #2 Drawing pencil
✧ Colors corresponding to the drawing

☁️Pasos a seguir: | Steps to follow:☁️
Paso 01
Step 01
Alright, friends! I started by positioning my sheet firmly in my folder to ensure the best possible setup for beginning the sketch. I generally prefer to dive straight into the drawing itself, then refine it with strokes that align with the original reference. I’m no expert, but I always put my best effort into my work; so, I began by laying down the foundation and the overall structure of the drawing using a #2 pencil.
Paso 02
Step 02
After finishing my base drawing, I began filling in the part I found most difficult—in this case, the hair. I’ll fill it all in, and then I’ll add the shadows using a more intense shade of color.
Paso 03
Step 03
I did the same for the base skin tone of Gaara, then filled in the areas beneath the neck, under the eyes, and below the hair and ears with shading. I also emphasized his facial expressions using a brown tone—the same color I used for the shading—and then blended it all by applying a muted brown shade to integrate these tones with the skin color.
Paso 04
Step 04
Finally, I filled in the clothing and other accessories with color; I also blended in some shading tones, added more depth to the tattoo next to his face, finished coloring the dark circles under his eyes, and used a black permanent marker to outline the drawing to make it stand out more.
☁️Resultado: | Result:☁️
This is the final result of my drawing; I hope you liked it a lot and enjoyed the experience of watching the process—and the final outcome—in the video 🤩.
Well, friends, thank you for making it to the end! I’ll sign off now—wishing you all a wonderful day. See you next time for another tutorial where we’ll draw characters from Naruto and more! 👋🏻😊 See you later!
