ENGLISH

Greetings everyone, and welcome to my blog.

This has been a weekend spent working. When I say that I am my own boss, it means there are no set office hours; if I need to work straight through to meet a commitment, that’s what I do.

Often, students (my clients) leave complex assignments until the very last minute—perhaps trying to figure them out on their own—only to realize, right as the deadline approaches, that they can’t manage it, and so they reach out for help. This often means completing specific requirements in record time; for instance, yesterday morning, a client asked for a delicate project to be finished by today.

The request involved writing a story based on a specific theme—which required some research—and then turning it into a digital storybook using the app "Canva." The instructor was very specific about using this particular application; I’m not sure why, but when it comes to an assignment, you simply follow the requirements as given.

That said, I did use other applications—such as PhotoScape—as auxiliary tools to speed up certain tasks. Otherwise, the entire digital storybook was created within Canva.

First, I gathered information about the setting of the story: the Venezuelan "Coastal-Mountain" region, covering various aspects of the area. Naturally, I only researched what was necessary to provide substance to the narrative.

I drew inspiration from a vacation I once took to the region, highlighting local cuisine and tourist landscapes, while adding a touch of mystery and fantasy toward the end. Once the story was written, I looked for a template in Canva to assemble it. There were many designs, but none quite fit the context perfectly. So, I used the tools within the application itself to create my own custom template, incorporating elements from several other designs.

Additionally, I searched for animated images online and used Canva’s background-removal tool to convert them into PNG files. This allowed me to create a template featuring elements relevant to the story being told. I’ll admit that it’s a detailed process, but once you become proficient with the application, it actually becomes easy and fun.

The result turned out beautifully, and the client was very satisfied—I delivered the final work this morning. I experimented with several different templates and themes before settling on the one that I felt was the best fit.

In the images provided, I’ve shared a glimpse of the process, and the cover image shows one of the pages with the final result. Thanks for visiting my blog—have a wonderful rest of your weekend!
