Hello everyone, good evening. I hope you have a wonderful week. I've had a post saved for a while, and between one thing and another, I only got around to reading it today. It's from my friend Mercedes 
It's from Silver Bloggers initiative #46, and it's titled: Did you have a pet as a child?
As a child, I grew up in an environment where many animals were raised, but my favorites at home were always the dogs. The family home's yard was very large and full of fruit trees and many gardens. At the far end of the yard, my aunts, uncles, and parents had a chicken coop. I also remember they made a kind of cement pond to raise some ducks.
My cousin's pet was a hen named Gisela, and he had her until she died of old age. We were all given several chicks, but he never abandoned his hen, and no one could ever touch her. I felt more attached to a mixed-breed dog they had adopted, whom they named Popy, after that clown on television. Popy even accompanied me to school. He knew how to jump the fence despite all the obstacles they put in his way. He died of old age.
After I moved out on my own with my mom, I got my first pet. Her name was Charlie, and she was a very fluffy white dog, but she was a mixed breed. I don't remember what she died of, but I know she was still young. Then another mixed-breed dog came to the house, named Typhoon, but he turned out to be very aggressive and once bit me in the face. Thank God it wasn't too serious, but we had to keep him on the side of the yard, and only my mom took care of him. He's the one in one of the photos.
The last pet I had as a teenager was Reina, a small black dog who was always with me… she's the one in the rest of the photos. We went out together, she slept in my room, and she was very sweet. When I got married, she stayed with my mom because I couldn't take her with me. Besides, my mom was very attached to her. Reina died of old age, as did Tifón; only my oldest son knew her when he was little.
As a teenager, I had the opportunity to be around horses, and they became my favorite animal, but I was never able to have one as a pet. As a child, I never had kittens; the first one I had in the house belonged to my daughter—a cat she found in the street. One of the things I liked about being around dogs from a young age is that I learned to love and protect them. Today, there are more cats than dogs in my house, but they are all loved equally.

Se trata de la iniciativa # 46 de Silver Bloggers, y está titulada: ¿Tuvieron alguna mascota de niños?
Desde niña crecí en un ambiente donde se criaban muchos animales, pero mis favoritos en la casa siempre fueron los perros. El patio de la casa familiar era muy grande y estaba repleto de árboles frutales, y muchos jardines. Al final del patio, mis tíos, y mis padres tenían un gallinero, también recuerdo que hicieron una especie de lagunita de cemento para criar unos patos.
La mascota de mi primo era una gallina, se llamaba Gisela, y la tuvo hasta que murió de viejita. Nos regalaron varios pollitos a todos, pero él jamás desamparó a su gallina, y nadie pudo tocársela jamás. Yo sentí más apego hacia un perrito mestizo que habían adoptado en la casa, que lo llamaron Popy, por aquel payaso de la televisión. Popy me acompañaba hasta a la escuela. Sabía saltar la cerca a pesar de todos los obstáculos que le ponían. Murió de viejito.
Después que me mudé sola con mi mamá, tuve mi primera mascota única. Se llamaba Charlie, y era una perrita blanca muy peluda, pero estaba cruzada con mestizo. No recuerdo de qué murió, pero sé que aún estaba joven. Luego llegó otro mestizo a la casa, se llamaba Tifón, pero resultó ser muy bravo y una vez me mordió la cara, gracias a Dios no fue tan grave pero tuvimos que dejarlo a un costado del patio y sólo lo atendía mi mamá. Es el que aparece en una de las fotos.
La última mascota que tuve siendo adolescente fue Reina, una perrita negra pequeña que estaba conmigo siempre… es la que sale en el resto de las fotos. Salíamos juntas, dormía en mi habitación, y era muy dulce. Cuando me casé, se quedó con mi mamá, porque no pude llevarla conmigo. Además de que mi mamá estaba muy encariñada con ella. Reina murió de viejita, al igual que Tifón, sólo la conoció mi hijo mayor cuando estaba pequeño.
Siendo adolescente, tuve la oportunidad de estar en contacto con caballos, y pasó a ser mi animal favorito, pero nunca pude tener uno como mascota. Estando pequeña jamás tuve gatitos, el primero que tuve en la casa era de mi hija… una gata que encontró en la calle. Una de las cosas que me gustó de tener contacto con perritos desde pequeña, es que aprendí a amarlos y protegerlos. Hoy en día en mi casa hay más gatos que perros, pero todos son amados por igual.
