Saludos a todos, muy buenos días... bienvenidos a mi blog.
Llevaba tres días sin escribir porque entre la situación de energía eléctrica, salidas y preparándole a mi hija su fiesta sorpresa de cumpleaños, se me fueron esos días súper atareada. Ella no estuvo aquí el día de su cumpleaños que fue el domingo 30 de agosto, ya que se auto regaló un viaje a Margarita en un tour de agencia con otros amigos.
Me pareció el regalo más chévere que podemos darnos después de un año de arduo trabajo incansable, y se tomó todo el fin de semana desde el viernes. Ayer en la madrugada ya estaba de regreso, y el grupo de amigos del entrenamiento le organizó un agasajo sorpresa. Mi parte fue elaborar la torta y el quesillo, y por eso salí el domingo a comprar todo lo necesario.
Ayer amanecí preparando todo, y les cuento que a las 9 de la mañana nos quitaron la electricidad. Gracias a Dios todo lo que necesitaba hacer para iniciar, ya estaba listo. El quesillo ya se estaba refrigerando, y la torta estaba en el horno.
La torta que escogí fue de zanahoria con cubierta de queso crema. Me tocó esperar a que llegara la luz para preparar el betún para cubrirla, y eso fue en la tarde. Por el largo tiempo sin buena refrigeración, el queso crema ya no estaba bien duro y el betún no quedó tan espeso como quería, pero igualmente se rellenó la torta y se cubrió, y quedó coqueta.
Sus amigos le hicieron unas caritas impresas y se las colocaron por todos lados. Pasamos una noche muy bonita, por supuesto, cancelaron el entrenamiento de ayer, jajajaja, así que nos viene doble tanda esta semana.
Su viaje fue hermoso, disfrutó un cumpleaños diferente, para ella estar en la playa es su mejor terapia, y llegar aquí y encontrar la cosecha de amor que ha cultivado por tanto tiempo, es maravilloso. Dios le bendiga ese fruto que ha logrado a lo largo de su vida.

I hadn’t written in three days because between the power outage, going out, and planning my daughter’s surprise birthday party, those days just flew by—I was super busy. She wasn’t here on her birthday, which was Sunday, August 30, since she treated herself to a trip to Margarita on a package tour with some friends.
I thought it was the coolest gift we could give ourselves after a year of tireless, hard work, and she took the whole weekend off starting Friday. She was back early yesterday morning, and her group of friends from training organized a surprise party for her. My job was to make the cake and the quesillo, so I went out on Sunday to buy everything I needed.
Yesterday I woke up early to get everything ready, and I’ll tell you—at 9 a.m. our power went out. Thank God everything I needed to get started was already ready. The quesillo was already chilling in the fridge, and the cake was in the oven.
The cake I chose was a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I had to wait for the power to come back on before I could make the frosting to cover it, and that wasn’t until the afternoon. Because it had been so long without proper refrigeration, the cream cheese wasn’t as firm as it should have been, and the frosting didn’t turn out as thick as I wanted, but I still filled and frosted the cake, and it turned out pretty.
Her friends made some little faces and stuck them all over the cake. We had a really lovely evening; of course, they canceled yesterday’s practice, hahaha, so we’re in for a double session this week.
Her trip was wonderful; she enjoyed a different kind of birthday. For her, being at the beach is the best therapy, and coming here to find the harvest of love she’s cultivated for so long is marvelous. May God bless her for the fruit she’s reaped throughout her life.
