Back in my childhood, I wasn't a book person. But I was very fond of horror stories and books. Of course, why not? I love those things which give me a thriller vibe.
I read so many horror fiction books in my childhood. Even though some of it was way too corny, but who cares? as long as it's related to horror stories I intended to read it. But there is one book that rocked my childhood.

I found this book at my school book fair event. Like I said I wasn't a book person so, why should I go to such events back then. I was so bored because of the classes, so I wanted to skip class and I didn't have any other places to go, I just jumped into that event. I saw so many books for the first time. But there was one book that attracted me the most, especially the cover page. When I saw this book the first thing pop-up in my head was "Dude! You don't look like a dummy. You look more like an angry little puppet." I picked up that book to see what's the story of this little dummy. But there was a problem because the whole book was written in English and there were so many words that I didn't know the meanings. But I still wanted to read it. So for the problem, I used a dictionary.
I'm so smart.
I purchased that book with my savings. Soon I started to read it and the more I read the more I got into the story. It was like opium. If I don't finish what I start, I might die. This is exactly what I felt when I was reading that book.
I couldn't concentrate on my study because in my head I created a mini world of that book and whenever I took a break, I kept thinking about what is going to happen on the next page. I also got scolded by my mother because I was reading that book secretly using my textbook as a shield and she caught me and the rest of was history.
Of course, it was scary back then and I found those feelings more interesting to read. I shared this book with my friends. We always talked about which parts were more interesting or which line was creepy.
When I finished all three books I was so drained from the story. Sometimes I felt like in the night, a dummy looking puppet would appear from under my bed and asked me "Are you feeling lonely because of the dark knight? Want me to give you company?"
I wanted to read more books like this and I did read a lot of books like that, but none of them couldn't take the place of that one book in my mind. I will always treasure this little memory of mine.
