Últimamente he estado bastante melancólica.
A veces me gustaría volver.
ENGLIS
I hope you have an excellent start to the week.
As I had told you in my presentation, I am Venezuelan, but exactly one year and ten months ago I moved to Peru.
I decided to emigrate because the situation in Venezuela for my family was becoming very complicated. The money was barely enough, sometimes we could not afford to eat three meals, as is normal and several things that I was used to, in relation to my previous quality of life, had disappeared.
I was feeling quite depressed, because I was not enjoying my youth. Instead of worrying about my studies and outings with my best friends, I was overwhelmed with questions like: what can I do to help my family get ahead?
So I decided that I could not continue living like this and since my boyfriend was already here in Peru, it was much easier to come.
But I think it is very difficult to be 100% satisfied with your life and although I have done better here, I still feel a little uneasy.
There are several bittersweet feelings when you are an immigrant.
For example, something that makes me feel very good is that my boyfriend's family has integrated me into it unconditionally. And for that I will be eternally grateful.
But then bitter feelings appear and especially on these festive dates.
I've been quite melancholic lately.
One of the reasons is because I miss my family infinitely.
I miss my customs, the food, the city and the Caribbean climate.
I miss my friends or I miss what we once were. Nobody tells us how difficult it is to make new friends, real friends. Or maybe I'm very selective when it comes to letting someone into my life.
Sometimes I feel like I'm not in love, sometimes I feel lost. Sometimes I would like to go back.
¡Hasta la proxima! See you soon.
