When I think back to my childhood, I remember the good memories that were made.
I remember the bad times too... but only a little.

My mother had been a crucial part of my youth. Being the one to always help with my speeches and letting me leave the house knowing full well that my t-shirt (yes, I grew up plainly) and parts don't match. She had a happy child and that was more important than tears caused over dull colours.

I remember asking my mom to sign me up for ballet classes. I also remember only going once. Maybe it wasn't for me? Maybe I wasn't good enough. I don't know... What I did know was that even if the teacher told my mom that I'm not allowed back (for some reason) she would never have told me and risk hurting my feelings.

Mother are different kind of humans. Ever think of the fact that you walk around for 9 months, caring for something that you
have not even met yet and just by the kick of one tiny leg instantly know for a fact that you will never let anything bad or hurtful happen to it? Mothers do.
Mine did.

I think being a mother can be scary sometimes. Frightful and alarming. A child that turns out to be the only person in the entire world who will know what a mother's heart sounds like from the inside becomes a mother's heart walking around outside her body...

Anyway, I am not a mother yet thus I can honestly say that motherhood or the possibility of motherhood scares me. I have learnt to hold a baby and speak to them in a cooing voice but as soon as the pipes open up and that little being starts howling like a lone wolf locating another pack I feel like running for the hills. Luckily the mother of the child is never very far and can take her as fast a possible.

Anyway... Back to my keeper.
She was a year older than I am at the moment when she had me, so I hope that I am able to make such a success of being a mother as she did. (not me a a success but becoming the perfect mother)

Another good memory was the fact that while I was in Primary school, her motivation helped me to succeed in becoming the Dux scholar as well as Head girl. I can honestly say that I would not be able to have achieved it!

My mother is my hero and a real supermom and although everyone thinks they have the very best. I know I do.
I love you my sunshine!
