Hello everyone!
I'm back with my Splinterlands post, and the purpose of this post is to take part in the Splinterlands Weelky Battle Challenge. This week's theme is Chaos Legion monsters from Earth elements, Mycelic Infantry. I was a little hard pressed to find a suitable battle to use this monster because some of the battles I tried didn't support using these monsters. I can finally find a pretty good battle for me to share with you. I hope you like what I'm going to share.
I'm neither a proplayer nor a tournament hero. I just enjoys sharing srategy and battles that I find interesting in my own view. So don't imagine this is going to be a very extraordinary battle. Well, let's see what this battle looks like, and what strategy I use in the rulesets in this battle.
Well this is a battle rank in the gold league, and maybe the strategy I'm going to share may not apply to the other leagues because the active abilities of each monster will be different in each league. Before that, let's take a look at the full stats of the Mycelic Infantry.
Mycelic Infantry has 8 manacaps with Melee attack and Shield abilities that have been active since level 1. At level 5 or in league gold, there will be additional Giant Killer abilities and at the max level this monster will be active Enrage ability. I don't think there is anything special about this monster other than the Shield ability that has been active since level 1. A speed of only 1 will probably be a favorite tank in reverse speed rulesets, but for normal combat it might be better to consider using another tank.
You can see the line-ups of the two teams in the picture above. I used a summoner from element Dragon, Quix The Devious level 3 which I combined with monsters from element Earth. My focus was on surviving the earthquake so I used some monsters that have the ability to fly. The same strategy is also applied by Opponent. Although the opponents use the Obsidian Summoner, the monsters chosen are monsters that have the Flying ability. The strategy of each monster I choose can be seen in the table below:
| Monster | Position | Abilities | Strategy |
|---|---|---|---|
| First (Tank) | Thorn | Monster mana 1 is actually just a complement. Being the first monster to die if attacked by the opponent's tank, so the Mycelic Infantry main tank can last longer. | |
| Second (Main Tank) | Shield, Gian Killer | I chose this monster as the main tank in the earthquake rulesets because this monster has Shield ability, so when the earthquake comes, this monster will only receive 1 melee attack. Even though it only has an initial speed of 1, but the Spreading Fury rulesets make this monster have the ability Enrage, will increase melee attack and speed when this monster is damaged. | |
| Third (Tank, Attacker) | Flying, Void, Phase | This monster is actually rightly called a tank rather than an attacker. this is because this monster only has 1 magic damage, but has high speed, Flying, Void and Phase abilities that will make attacks from opponents the chances of miss is high. | |
| Fourth ( Attacker) | Flying | I really like this monster because of its Flying ability and very high speed and also has 2 magic damage. Flying ability is very useful in Earthquake rulesets. This monster will have the possibility of getting a chance to attack first. | |
| Fifth ( Main Attacker) | Flying, Scattershot, Blast, Blind | This is the main attacker in this battle because of the abilities possessed and 3 magic damage + blast abilities that are very explosive. Although this monster has a very large manacap, this is comparable to the stats it has. | |
| Last ( Tank) | Taunt, Forcefield | Acts as a tank and attacker because of the stats you have. 3 magic damage is very sufficient as an attacker, and Taunt + Forcefield abilities are very good as a tank. Although this monster is not a Flying monster, this monster is a very important monster in this formation because it will be the target of attacks from the opposing monster so that other monsters that have Flying ability will not receive an attack before this monster dies. This monster will be the second monster to die after the tank in the first position, Mycelic Morphoid. |

Let's discuss the course of the round by round match.
The match begins with the awarding of buffs and debuffs from all Summoners and monsters. Overall, the monsters have a better speed than the opposing monsters. I got the first attacking opportunity. Chaos Agent of the opponent is a monster that first dies as a result of being hit by a bLast from a Chaos Dragon attack, then followed by my Mycelic Morphoid who dies after being defeated by Pelacor Mercenary. The end of the first round on each team left 5 monsters.
The second round started from an earthquake that hit a monster that did not have Flying ability. Not long after that Pelacor Mercenary died because it was defeated by Regal Peryton. Until the end of this second round, each team still has 5 monsters left.
This is because the HP of each monster is already small. Even one attack from Chaos Dragon can defeat 2 monsters at once. Until the end of this third round, there was only 1 monster left on the opponent's side and 3 monsters left on my side
This battle ended in the fourth round. Runemancer Flore gets back-to-back attacks from Regal Peryton and Void Dragon, and when he replies to the attack on the Void Dragon, his attack misses instead. I won this battle with 3 monsters left, all of which have Flying abilities.
The strategy I applied worked very well in this battle. Although Mycelic Infantry does not have Flying abilities, the Shield abilities are quite useful in Earthquake rulesets. I don't think this is the best strategy of the Earthquake rulesets, because obviously the best strategy is to use the Brington Bloom summoner, but the way I do it can be an alternative if you don't have that Summoner. I think some of the conditions that we can use to use Mycelic Infantry in battle are:
I think I don't really like Mycelic Infantry, but will continue to use this monster on some supportive rulesets.
