Hello guys!
Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. I'm writing this post to follow Splinterlands Mage Secrets Battle Challenge, Super Sneak. Well, this is my second post to join this challenge, you know. You can check my previous posts, The Unstoppable Jared Scar in Super Sneak! where Jared Scar became MVP in the battle. However, my post this time is the opposite of that post, as it's a counter to Jared Scar on the Super Sneak. Are you curious? Alright, without further ado, let's get to the main topic of this post!
Btw guys, I'm not a professional player or a tournament hero. I merely like to discuss battles and strategies that in my opinion are worthwhile. I participated in this combat using my Scholarship account with IGN BLTZR-WIZARD-700. I played in the Diamond league at modern rank while using a Full main Chaos Legion edition card and several Reward cards whose level was not max. The battle strategy that I shared may not be effective in other leagues because of the different levels of each league.
BATTLE PREPARATION
Challenge Rules
RULESET: SUPER SNEAK
Description:
All melee units gain the Sneak ability.
Battle Rulesets
The rulesets in this battle are:
- Super Sneak (All Melee attack Monsters have the Sneak ability)
- Ferocity (All Monsters have the Fury ability)
- Fire and Regret (All Monsters have the Return Fire ability)
- Mana Capacity 44
- Active Element Fire, Life, death and Dragon.
Line Up and Strategy
As you can see in this post, the strategy that I will apply is to use magic troops to counter attacks from Jared Scar. Why am I sure the opponent will use Jared Scar? This is because I saw the battle history of opponents who have Jared Scar, and I think most likely the opponent also uses Jared Scar in this battle considering the ruleset that really supports Jared Scar to become an Unstoppable MVP if the Bloodlust ability is active.
In addition to strong attacker magic, what needs to be considered is using a strong tank, both on the front and rear sides. So I compiled the rulesets as in the table below:
| Monster | Position | Abilities | Strategy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Summoner | -1 Range, -1 Speed | Quix The Devious is one of my favorite Summoners right now, because as you know that Dragon monsters have very special and very strong tats even though they have a large mana capacity on average. So in high mana battle, I prefer to use Dragon Summoner with a combination of monsters from Dragon and other elements looking at the situation and conditions. Well, in this battle I will combine Dragon monsters with Life monsters. Another specialty of Quix the Devious is that this Summoner will reduce the speed and attack range of all enemy monsters, so the possibility of winning will also increase. | |
| First | Heal, Void, Reflect Magic | Since this is a Super Sneak battle, there are many chances that the attack target will be separated to the rear side. So I chose Xenith Monk who has the ability to withstand Magic attacks with Void and Reflect Magic in the first position. Another advantage of this monster is that it has high speed and also Heal ability. If Range and Melee are monsters that attack this monster, it could be that the possibility of miss is also quite large. In addition, Heal will restore this monster's HP in every round, and this will make this monster last longer. | |
| Second | Flying, Scattershot, Blast, Blind | Chaos Dragon became the main attacker in this formation that I arranged. This is because this monster has a Scattershot, where the attack target of this monster is not bound by anything even the Taunt monster also has no effect. On the other hand, this monster is very deadly because it has 4 Magic attacks accompanied by Blast. So the impact of the attack from this monster will also hit the monster on the target side. I'm sure this will be a surprise for the opponent, where in Super Sneak battle I even use Magic monsters as the main attacker. Speaking of defensive support, Chaos Dragon also has a Flying ability that makes this monster able to dodge Melee attacks and Range attacks. In addition, this monster also has a Blind ability, which will affect all enemy monsters, where the opponent's monster will have a greater chance of missing out. | |
| Third | Flying, Repair, Resurrect, Immunity, Swiftness | Adelade Brightwing is a favorite support, because of his abilities. Repair ability will repair the armor of the comrade monster that receives the most attacks, Resurrect ability will revive the first dead comrade monster, and Swiftenss will increase the speed of all friend monsters. For self-defense, this monster has Flying and Immunity. And for attacks, this monster also has 2 Magic attacks that will help attack enemies. | |
| Fourth | Strengthen, Triage | Djinn Renova in this formation has a role as an attacker as well as support. With 4 magic attack damage, this monster will be very helpful in attacks. Furthermore, this monster has the Strengthen ability where all HP of friend monsters will increase +1. The triage ability will help the rear tank that is the target of the Sneak monster attack, where the monster's HP will restore in every round, so the defense will be stronger. | |
| Fifth | Flying, Void, Phase | Although it is in fifth place, the Void Dragon is the real rear tank. By relying on high speed combined with Flying ability, and assisted by the increase in speed from Adelade Brighting and Blind from Chaos Dragon, this monster will be very difficult to hit except by monsters with True Strike ability. Well, this strategy is a little tricky and depends on the RNG you have, but this strategy is also quite worth trying. | |
| Last | Martyr, Snare | Even though its position is at the very last, Venari Markstrat is a monster that will be sacrificed so that its Martyr ability can increase the overall stat of the Void Dragon. And if after death this monster is revived by Resurrect Adelade Brightwing, then Martyr will also be active 2x, and this means that the Void Dragon will experience a 2x increase in stats. |
You can see the line-ups of both teams in the picture below. Just like I guessed at the beginning, the opponent uses Life troops with Summoner Grandmaster Rathe and also Jared Scar as the main attacker.
In the first position, Coeurl Lurker who is a Riftwatcher monster who is very strong because he has Taunt, Dodge, Phase, Thorn. The second position is Venatr Kino max level with Reflection Shield ability, Camouflage, Immunity, and Slow. Third place is Adelade Brightwing, and fourth place is Cave Slug with Opportunity, Scavenger, and Slow abilities. Fifth place is Jared Scar with Bloodlust, True Strike, and Piercing ability. And in the last position there is the Chaos Knight who has the ability to Shield, Giant Killer, and Inspire as a rear tank.

I've also included a youtube video of this battle that you can play right away.
This battle is very interesting because the two teams have strategies that are opposite each other. Moreover, buffs and debuffs from all monsters and summoners and rulesets fill the upper and lower sides of monsters, making this battle even more crowded with complex strategies.
As usual, the first round begins with buffs and party debuffs from all Summoners and Monsters. After receiving buff and debuff, the average speed of my monster is still higher than the opponent, and the Void Dragon is the first monster to get a chance to attack. Then it was Coeurl Lurker's turn to attack Xenith Monk and was immediately retaliated by Xenith Monk. Coeurl Lurker immediately lost 4 HP, although Xenith Monk only had 2 melee attacks, this was due to Fury from rulesets. I don't know, maybe the opponent didn't notice with these rulesets, so keep using Taunt even in the Ferocity rulesets.
In this first round, Chaos Dragon's attack goes to Venator Kinjo, so the blast hits Coerl Lurker and Adelade Brightwing. It's a pity that Djinn Renova's attack missed. It wasn't until the first round ended that Coerl Lurker died for the first time due to the Venari Marksrat attack, but was resurrected again by Resurrect Adelade Brightwing. Not long after, my Venari Markstrat also died from Jared Scar's attack. Jared Scar's bloodlust is active, his stats increase, Martyr Venari Martstat is also active, Void Dragon's stats also increase. Venari Marksrat came back to life because of Resurrect Adelade Brightwing, but immediately died again due to Venator Kinjo's attack. Martyr reactivates, and the Void Dragon's stats increase again. The first round ended with Adelade Brightwing's strike on Xenith Monk.
The second round began with the Void Dragon's attack damaging Coeurl Lurker's Armor, followed by Coeurl Lurker attacking Xenith Monk but his attack missed. Because Jared Scar's stat has increased, so the next attack is Jred Scar's attack on the Void Dragon. Coeurl Lurker eventually died from Xenith Monk's attack. The Chaos Knight's attack misses hitting the Void Dragon. Adelade Brightwing also died from being hit by the Chaos Dragon's attack. Not long after that, Venator Kinjo died because of Djinn Renova. In addition, Triage from Djinn Renova restored the Void Dragon's HP, so now the Void Dragon's HP is 7. The second round ended with Xenith Monk dying from a Cave Slug attack. The opponent has 3 monsters left and I have 4 monsters.
Because all the support speed that the opponent has has all died, so all my monsters have speed above the opponent's monster. Cave Slug died due to successive attacks from the Void Dragon, Chaos Dragon, Djinn Renova and Adelade Brightwing. Now Jared Scar is in first place, and his attack damages Chaos Dragon's remaining 6 Armor and HP. The Third Round ended with a miss attack from the Chaos Knight to the Void Dragon.
The extremely scary Jared Scar died early in the fourth round due to successive attacks from the Void Dragon, Chaos Dragon and Djinn Renova. Now the opponent only has the Chaos Knight as the last monster. Until the fourth round ended, Chaos Knight still had 2 Armor and 6 HP.
Chaos Knight, who was the opponent's last monster, died in the fifth round. I won this battle with the remaining 4 monsters namely Chaos Dragon, Adelade Brightwing, Djinn Renova and Void Dragon. You can see the final result of this battle in the picture below.
STRATEGY DISCUSSION
The strategy I applied worked very effectively in this battle. Although this is a Super Sneak battle, using magic troops with monster attack targets in the first position will surprise the enemy, and maybe the enemy has no anticipation for the strategy. Putting the Martyr monster in the last position to increase the stats of the actual back tank, the Void Dragon, is not a bad strategy. With the increase in stats of the Void Dragon from Martyr Venari, the Marksrats will increase the chances of these monsters to dodge enemy attacks. This was because the Void Dragon had a Flying ability combined with extremely high speed. Another advantage of this strategy is that the possibility of this monster getting Dispel is very small, considering that this monster is in the last position, while Dispel monsters are usually Magic or Range monsters with the target of the monster's attack in the first position.
In other battles with Super Sneak rulesets, you will also consider using the same strategy. But what needs to be remembered is that you still have to adjust to the conditions at that time, because imposing certain strategies or using certain monsters might actually cause defeat.
