Hello guys!

Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. I'm writing this post to follow Splinterlands Mage Secrets Battle Challenge Up Close & Personal. This is a battle full of strategy because you can only use monster Melee in this battle.

Well, I'm not a professional player or a tournament hero. I merely like to discuss battles and strategies that in my opinion are worthwhile. I participated in this combat using my Scholarship account with IGN BLTZR-WIZARD-700. I played in the Diamond league at modern rank while using a Full main Chaos Legion edition card and several Reward cards whose level was not max. The battle strategy that I shared may not be effective in other leagues because of the different levels of each league.

Ok guys, without further ado, let's get straight to the heart of this post!

BATTLE PREPARATION

Challenge Rules

RULESET: Up Close & Personal

Description:

Only units with melee attacks can be used.

Use Thorns and Demoralize to counter melee attacks.
Units with 2 types of attacks (including melee) can be used.

Battle Rulesets

The rulesets in this battle are:

• Up Close & Personal (Only Monsters with Melee attack may be used in battles)
• Noxious Fumes (All Monsters start the battle Poisoned)
• Armored Up (All Monsters have 2 Armorin addition to their normal Armor stat)
• Mana Capacity 52
• Active Element Fire,Earth, Life and Dragon.

Line Up and Strategy

Some strategies that you can consider in Up Close and Personal rulesets include:

• Using Counter strategy with Thorn monster, This will make the attack from the melee monster turn towards the attacker
• Using Counter strategy with Demoralize monsters, by reducing the attack damage of all enemy monsters. The more Demoralize the monster the better.
• Using Counter strategy Retaliate, Abilities are a little tricky, but if retaliate is active, this will be very helpful because the monster that is hit by the attack will return the attack even if it is not his turn.
• Using tanks with Shield ability, because the amount received will be reduced by half.
• Combine attacks from several sides by using Opportunity and Sneak monsters.

Monster	Position	Abilities	Strategy
Conqueror Jacek	Summoner	+2 Speed, Scattershot, Piercing	I chose to use Summoner Conqueror Jacek because his buffs ability is very useful in this ruleset. Even though all monsters have an additional 2 Armors, the Piercing ability will still make attacks from monsters able to penetrate the opponent's Armor. In addition, the speed buff will give you the opportunity to attack first, which increases your chances of victory.
Grum Fameblade	First	Bloodlust, Void Armor, Void, Giant Killer	Grum Flameblade is a monster that is very strong because of its stats, especially to withstand magic attacks. But because monstermini also has great damage and Bloodlust and Giant Killer abilities, it is possible to become a tank in Up Close and Personal rulesets. The weakness of Grum Flameblade is that the speed is only 1, but with the buff from the Summoner, this monster will be stronger because the speed it has will increase and this can cover the shortcoming.
Ferexian Hero	Second	Weapons Training, Reach	Ferexian Hero is a Soulbound monster, and this one I have is actually still Low level. But because you need a monster with Reach that has HP big enough not to die in just 1 round due to poison, then I decided to use this monster.
Ferox Devender	Third	Protect, Repair	This monster is also a soulbound monster, which in this formation acts as support because it has the Protect ability, where all friendly monsters will get an additional 2 Armors, and has a Repair ability where this monster is able to repair the armor of the friend monster that receives the most attacks. In terms of attack, this monster does not have a role if it is not in the first position because it does not have special abilities such as Sneak and Opportunity.
Forgotten One	Fourth	Immunity, Retaliate, Piercing	I placed the Forgotten One in the middle of the formation to guard this monster from the attack of the enemy monster, with the aim of the final defense from the poison of the Noxious Fumes. This is because this monster has Immunity ability, so this monster is immune to all negative influences including poison. If its role as an attacker or tank arrives, this monster is only very strong because it has enormous damage and has the ability Retaliate. Another ability that Monster has is Piercing, but this is useless because summoners also provide Piercing buffs for all friendly monsters.
Tenyii Striker	Fifth	Sneak, Dodge, Backfire	Tenyii Striker is the only Sneak monster I have, and this will be one of the attackers who help attack before this monster dies from poison.
Antoid Platoon	Last	Shield, Scavenger	The Antoid Platoon is a rear tank because it has Shield ability. This is also the target of attack from the Opportunity monster. In addition, this monster has a Scavenger baility where Monste Rini's HP will increase if another monster dies.

STRATEGY DISCUSSION

The strategy I applied worked effectively in this battle. I won this battle with the key to victory in the Forgotten One who has Immunity can survive by minimizing attacks from opponents until the end of the round.
