Primer Destino "Isla Larga"

IMG_20230104_071027.jpg

IMG_20230104_071118.jpg

  1. Lleven repelente 🦟

Tips a toma En cuenta

Hi friends #venezuela, what a great initiative of this community, super excited to be here and give you a little bit of Venezuela to the world.
I love to travel, so getting this community where I can tell you my experience about the best tourist areas of the country, is super.

First trip 2023

Every year I set goals to accomplish in the coming year, and in 2023 the theme is to know at least 6 new places in the country, unique places to which I don't know, so in January we started that goal and so we started

First Destination "Island Larga".

IMG_20230104_071027.jpg

IMG_20230104_071118.jpg
Our great adventure starts leaving Barquisimeto, Lara state, heading to Carabobo state, city of Puerto Ordaz, by car is about 3 hours away.
*The route
The route is in very good condition until leaving the state of Yaracuy, there the road gets a little deteriorated, we recommend to go slowly and try to travel during the day.

Arrival in Puerto Helo

IMG_20230105_071042.jpg

IMG_20230104_082510.jpg
Arriving to puerto cabello and we checked into a hotel, in front of the passenger terminal called "Isla Larga" good facilities, with swimming pool and the cost are affordable
40$ a night for a double room, its location makes it a good place since just in front of the terminal you have the sea, it is an excellent place.
However, we just left our bags and headed to the town of "Gañango ".
It is about 15 minutes by car from the hotel, the road is quite accessible, from there the boats leave to "Isla Larga ".

Fact to take into account
The previous exit was the beach of "Quizandal", from there, there were boats to "Island Larga ", however, nowadays it is not like that, the dock was closed more than 1 year ago, you must leave from Gañango, important fact to take into account.

Well we continue, we arrived to Gañango there as soon as you enter you see hundreds of people with signs, offering you parking, showers and boats, we parked in a restaurant since it is somewhat safer, the parking lots range between 5$ and 10$, for people who have never been there it is great, since they guide you where to go, and take you to the boats, which are very close.
At the pier, there are the boats and for 10$ each person they take you to "Isla Larga" it is about 5 minutes away.
A somewhat turbulent but short trip.

Island Larga

IMG_20230104_102246.jpg

IMG_20230104_095854.jpg

IMG_20230104_101001.jpg

IMG_20230104_102333.jpg
We are on the island 🏝️ super spectacular, one of the best beaches I've been, the sun, the crystal clear water, with super white sands, without a doubt a true paradise.

Tips to keep in mind
If you go to Isla Larga you should several things to keep in mind.

  1. Take repellent 🦟
  2. Sunscreen is a must, even though the sun is strong on the beaches, here it is much stronger, so protect yourself.
  3. Use the huts
On the island you can stay in awnings or huts, I recommend the huts, they protect you better from the sun and they are not expensive, they cost 20$.
As in any beach, you can enjoy restaurants, ice cream and more.
    IMG_20230104_162807.jpg
At the end of the beach, if or if you must take a fresh water bath, so we ended the day in the pool of the Hotel.

The next day

IMG_20230104_155206.jpg

Our trip was not over, after the beach and the heat, we are ready to go to our second destination Aragua State towards the Colonia Tovar.
After about 2 hours you arrive to Maracay, and from there you go up by the victoria....

The road
IMG_20230105_085352.jpg

IMG_20230105_095340.jpg

IMG_20230105_100307.jpg

IMG_20230105_090928.jpg

IMG_20230105_100628.jpg

The road in terms of its condition, almost all the victory is in very good condition, however it is super difficult, ruthless curves with steep climbs, although it has a good view and you can take good pictures, it is a road is usually dangerous caution

Tips to take into account
My recommendation is to avoid this road, the climbs and curves are super difficult, it is better to go up through Caracas, however, if you have no choice and are forced to go up there, go at low speed, and make at least a stop of about 30 minutes to rest you and the car.

Colony Tovar

IMG_20230105_143729.jpg

Undoubtedly when you arrive at "Colonia Tovar " everything is wonderful, the architecture, the climate, the people, in short, a very pleasant place.

Accommodation.
IMG_20230105_144145.jpg

IMG_20230105_181057.jpg

IMG_20230105_181614.jpg

IMG_20230105_181705.jpg

We stayed in a super sensational place Cabañas de Leo beautiful, with lots of vegetation, very beautiful view, a spectacle worth taking lots of pictures.
Best of all, it is close to the exit of the town, so if you go up through Caracas it is great to stay there since you don't go through the center of the city.

Rides

You have to do the rustic rides, for a cost of $10 per person, they take you to different routes.
There are several routes here I will show you and tell you which one

Route 1
You go in rustic to, the hydrangea fields, the Beer factory 🍻, the sausage factory and the chocolate factory, in all the places you have tasting, possibility to buy and you learn about the place and its history.

Rita 2
You go to the wine factory, the tree house, goat cheese factory and finish at the crossbow, a theme park.

Now I will show you each of them

Route 1
Hydrangea fields
IMG_20230106_095448.jpg

IMG_20230106_094443.jpg

IMG_20230106_094619.jpg

IMG_20230106_094642.jpg

IMG_20230106_094213.jpg

Without a doubt one of my favorite, a few hectares of these beautiful plants with incredible flowers, you can take pictures and videos in this great landscape.

Craft beer brewery, la Coloniera🍻
IMG_20230106_100722.jpg

IMG_20230106_101953.jpg

IMG_20230106_100924.jpg

IMG_20230106_101101.jpg

There they explain the process of making beer, ingredients and give you taste their products, you can also take your beer, with a great view, we recommend the blackberry beer, and if you want you can take your sixpack for the road😆.

Sausage factory
IMG_20230106_103726.jpg

IMG_20230106_103854.jpg
Then they take you to the sausage factory there you can, take pictures on the photography pigs, they explain you the difference between German and Polish sausage, obviously you try them, also this factory has the Guinness record for the biggest sausage in the world, with more than 15 meters, interesting 🤔

Chicolatico
IMG_20230106_105107.jpg

IMG_20230106_110054.jpg

IMG_20230106_110531.jpg

IMG_20230106_112031.jpg

IMG_20230106_112234.jpg

IMG_20230106_112245.jpg

IMG_20230106_112343.jpg

The chocolate factory, there they explain you the process from cocoa to chocolate, its differences and the whole Process, you can go to the store that literally everything is chocolate, plus of course there is tasting, then you can go to have a hot chocolate, and take pictures in a viewpoint that is super spectacular.
This tour is recommended

Route 2
The second route goes to:

Artisan wine factory
IMG_20230105_120730.jpg

IMG_20230105_121805.jpg

IMG_20230105_122720.jpg
IMG_20230105_122752.jpg

They explain you the process of realization, and if they added it, you can taste them, you can try a rum of 25 degrees of alcohol 🥴 with 2 years of alejar, super cool, and its unique flavor, you take pictures in its super barrel and spaces.

Tree house
IMG_20230105_124220.jpg

IMG_20230105_124451.jpg

IMG_20230105_124314.jpg

IMG_20230105_124934.jpg

IMG_20230105_124805.jpg
Here is one of the space that I liked the most of this route, it is a huge tree house, with a hanging bridge, you pay additional 1$ per person for the maintenance of the house, you can take pictures in their space and they give you a time to be in the house, but additional they have coffee, liquor sales, and food you can easily spend a day there.

Goat cheese factory
IMG_20230105_135646.jpg

IMG_20230105_140942.jpg

IMG_20230105_141004.jpg

There you enter you are welcomed by a young man in typical costume, this boy tells you about the cheese process, benefits of goat's milk, and here you go to taste the cheeses and products derived from goat's milk, they are exquisite, do not miss the smoked cheese.

finally the crossbow
IMG_20230105_131049.jpg

IMG_20230105_133009.jpg

IMG_20230105_132830.jpg

It is a park where you can shoot bows, air rifles, paintball, ride horses and share.
Plus you get to see these cute little friends posing for a picture.

Tips.
If you are going to go, you should go with the friends that are right at the entrance Regenwald they are red with black color, they are the cheapest and the attention of quality.

the night

IMG_20230105_194835.jpg

IMG_20230105_194638.jpg

IMG_20230105_195045.jpg

IMG_20230105_195232.jpg

IMG_20230105_195520.jpg

IMG_20230105_195744.jpg

The best thing in this season is the night in Colonia Tovar, the temperature drops a lot, plus everything is illuminated, lights everywhere, the church square certainly a spectacle, the restaurants are cheap, the cafes are delicious.
You can go to places where you eat outside with a great bonfire in the middle of the table is a real experience.
Already passed more 10 pm ,To sleep since the day is tight

in the morning

IMG_20230106_090811.jpg

IMG_20230106_092211.jpg

IMG_20230106_092247.jpg

IMG_20230106_092259.jpg
Last day but we enjoy some delicious empanadas, with coffee client
You can not leave the Tovar hill without buying peaches and peaches are exquisite and at a good price, plus the strawberries that seemed from another planet
I couldn't leave without buying my plants

Farewell

IMG_20230106_114542.jpg
We had to say goodbye to this place and we went down through Caracas via El Junquito, in a much friendlier road, plus the weather helps a lot, and you can go down and enjoy the road, as there are restaurants, walks, public spaces where you can take pictures, it is a very cool road, in our next trip we will go up and down this road, even if we have to add 1 hour more to the trip, but it is worth it and it is safer.

Well my friends I hope you visit these sites and take into account the tips that are super interesting.
See you in the next installment

Thanks for coming here
