The garden bench was empty and in a bad mood.

He had this sad and empty feeling, which could not be explained to a stranger.

The leaves have turned yellow and red. They were dancing and coming down together landing under the bench. Their flying dance was the last good bye to the bench on which they always looked from above.

But tables turned and they were lying on the floor useless and unnoticed. Now the bench was the one looking from above.

The bench knew that rains will soon be frequent guests and will make him damp and therefore unattractive to visitors. No one will sit and enjoy the time reading, speaking or kissing. He will not hear different stories of different people, dialogues from lives and expressions of feelings.

Days will become uninteresting and will count down the time till spring, when all will be back and he will again become the center of various events.

He recalled the couple, which was with him almost every single evening. He saw how they fell in love with each other and how they gradually became closer.

On the day they found a hedgehog in the park they were childishly happy.

Then the day came, when they had the most serious conversation. Then she cried. Then he got irritated…then…

In short the couple never came back to him after that day and he always thought of what happened to each of them.

“If only I could talk” dreamed the bench.  He had so much to tell and so much to explain.

He felt so lonely and he knew that’s how he will feel till spring.

He hoped spring will send another couple to him with whose life he will live and whom he will be waiting for every single evening…
