It is fun loving get out of the house and go to a market or two on Friday to join in with the highly popular #marketFriday community hosted by the bubbly bright and lovely dswigle@dswigle. The variety of so many different around the world #marketFriday posts keep me reading for a couple of days. Which I have to say is especially fabulous given that the covid pandemic is still restricting our freedom to travel.

My #marketFriday is not my usual highly colourful outing, rather it is a more practical, carefully thought out and highly important featuring car tyres. Yes a down to earth subject that does not normally enter into my world of shopping, until yesterday that is, when as a passenger I found myself being driven to Bridgestone Tyre Service by a husband on a mission to change the little half sized spare tyre, called a spacer, for a normal sized tyre in our 2 year old SUV.

We went to Bridgestone Tyre service because the tyres on our vehicle are Bridgestone tyres.

Driving on little half sized tyre, the spare that is tucked away in the boot, is highly problematic given the fact the required driving speed for this small tyre is 80kms an hour over a recommended distance of 40 kms. Never knowing if, when or where a flat tyre might happen we decided for peace of mind to take action and replace this 'spacer' tyre for a normal sized one.

The mechanic at Bridgestone Tyre Service was more than happy to check out whether the normal sized tyre in the allocated space in the boot for a smaller sized spacer tyre.

He took out the little spare tyre.

Removed the back tyre.

Positioned it into the space.

And although the cover was not completely flat we decided that a little bit of imperfection and peace of mind suited us .

The next step in this process is to purchase a new rim for the tyre at the Toyota dealerships and then buy a new normal sized tyre at Bridgestone Tyre Service. It is a New Year project given the fact that it is Christmas Eve today and businesses are having a well earned break.

Is it worth the effort and the money spending money on a rim and a new tyre for a just in case scenario? The answer is absolutely a yes, even if we never get a flat tyre it is worth the mental and emotional relief. Being strategically prepared is a very good feeling.

.......................................................

Pretty gold, pink and green balls hanging from the branches in-between little white and brown foxes and bright glowing gold fairy lights on a Christmas Tree in my daughter's home. Gifts wrapped in many different coloured paper spread out on the floor waiting for the ahhhs, laughs, delightful gasps of joy from one and all gathered together in love celebrating togetherness, connections and family.

I pray for peace, love, hope and acceptance for a healthy covid free world for all countries and all people in 2022.

Merry Christmas from me to you.
