Hi lovely @nelinoeva, your fun Feathered Friends challenge, Birds in the Grass, has grabbed my attention at a late stage in this round. Hopefully I get over the line before the clock strikes!

Nonetheless, it does not matter as it is always fun just to share bird photos particularly when successfully snapping photos of the nervous doves busy pecking for seed on the grass. All the yummy seed tossed out by the bossy and messy lorikeets, the larrikins of the bird world.

Doves are clever resourceful birds! And yes, doves feature in my post once again. They are always in my yard is my only excuse.

I saw the doves outside on the grass yesterday morning and managed to quietly sneak enough shots with my iPhone before spooking them. The lorikeets do not give a hoot as long as they have seed to eat.

I was actually surprised that the doves were content to stay in the grass as I am sure they sensed me. Maybe they are getting used to me!

But of course the doves sensed my presence and the more nervous ones flew off, they tend to spook each other I've notice. It was a positive that one brave dove stayed.
