Iligan City is constitutionally subdivided into 44 barangay, one of which is barangay Del Carmen. Today, our community is celebrating its 28th Charter Day, January 28, 2018.

Charter day is a cultural event and a public holiday in the Philippines. It is to celebrate the Founder's day of the community. Public officials create programs where the members of the community cooperate and establish good relationship with one another. As of today, there is a total of 7721 population in barangay Del Carmen.

The first activity is purok parade where the residents of each purok will form a crowd to represent their purok. Everyone is encourage to participate in the activity and is also given a consolation price of Php. 200.00. The parade started at 7:00 in the morning starting from the barangay hall to purok 4 and back to the community's patron church Nuestra Seniora Del Carmen.

This event will not only establish a good relationship but will also encourage everyone to be supportive of the activities in the barangay. This keep the community alive and coordinate with one another to have a peaceful, safe and one Del Carmen.
