Good morning growing enthusiasts! Welcome back to another one of my grow blogs. Today we are coming up on the 3rd and 4th week of grow.
There is a significant difference between the two lights and I have already noticed some problems in the grow.
I noticed some gnats flying around when I watered them today. So I know from experience those little buggers can be a bit of an annoyance if not addressed right away. I do have some sticky papers I put down on the ones I noticed the gnats flying out from. (Probably from the Black Cow manure)
When I start my soil I usually use the pro mix that doesn't have any nutrient content so the seedlings don't get burned but I couldn't find it in my local nursery so this time I bought some different mix which had some nutrients in it. My mistake! I do have a little curl and discoloration on some of the leaves but nothing major. I'm sure it will be fine once they start calling for the nutrients which should be very soon.
In this picture ☝️ you can see the difference in time of grow. The 3 plants under the LED's that are the biggest are the first ones that took to soil and are at the 4th week mark. The ones under the HPS and the one at bottom left under the LED is at the 3 week mark.
These pictures show the difference between the two lights with two BMS at the 3 week mark. The LED's are outperforming the HPS which I have always used. Definitely gonna get another LED to replace the HPS.
