The majority of people these day are continuously attached to a mobile phone. It seems to be an extension of their arm...
It seems to impair their ability to walk straight and their peripheral vision seems to be a little off...
They are on some sort of social media most of the day talking about pretty much every aspect of their lives, from what they had for lunch to what colour their undies are!!! Some of my questions are... How do they have so much to say? and Why do they think everyone is interested???
Back closer to the ark days when I was young we didn't have mobile phones... we had to ask permission to use the home phone and if we were lucky the answer was yes... If your parents were waiting for a call you were shit out of luck!!
Because of this we had things to talk about the following day and much information was communicated.
In my humble opinion, cell phones and social media are the cause of failing relationships... They say that "absence makes the heart grow fonder" and it's true. These days partners are in constant contact with each other throughout the day and when they get home at night they have nothing new to talk about.
They then get bored and then go looking for something new!!! With all dating apps and SM sites it makes it very easy to come in contact with new and seemingly more interesting people.
I feel like we need to start turning the phones off for a few hours a day and just living in the moment instead of living on social media and looking at what other people are doing.
This probably sounds hypercritical from someone typing a post on Steemit but I have other things to do during the day and I don't have a partner to miss so this is really the only social contact I have.
I'd love to know other peoples thoughts.....
Do you think we could learn from taking a step back in time for a lesson in communication or do you think things are better the way they are now?
