A sports injury has forced us to travel to the clinic in Bad Mergentheim several times in recent weeks. With just under 25,000 inhabitants, Bad Mergentheim is the most populous city in the Main Tauber district - but not much bigger than Tauberbischofsheim or Wertheim. In any case, all three towns are strung together like a string of pearls along the River Tauber.

Hallo liebe Freunde,
ein Sportverletzung zwang uns in den letzten Wochen 枚fters dazu, in die Klinik nach Bad Mergentheim zu fahren. Bad Mergentheim ist mit knapp 25.000 Einwohnern die bev枚lkerungsreichste Gemeinde im Main Tauber Kreis - allerdings damit auch nicht viel gr枚脽er als Tauberbischofsheim oder Wertheim. Alle drei St盲dte liegen jeden Falls wie an der Perlenschnur aufgereiht an der Tauber.
So the reason for our travels is not a good one. However, everything seems to have gone smoothly. On our last trip to Bad Mergentheim, we also included a short visit to Bad Mergentheim Castle. However, nothing was blooming in the beautiful castle park in mid-February. I plan to bring you more photos of it in a few weeks' time, because we have to go back to the clinic to have the injury checked.

Der Grund f眉r unsere Reisen ist also eher kein Guter. Allerdings scheint alles glimflich verlaufen zu sein. Bei unserer letzten Tour nach Bad Mergentheim haben wir auch ein Kurzbesuch des Bad Mergentheimer Schlosses eingeschoben. Allerdings bl眉hte in dem wundersch枚nen Schlo脽park Mitte Februar noch nichts. Ich habe vor, Euch in ein paar Wochen noch mal Fotos davon nachzuliefern, weil wir ja nochmals an die Klinik m眉ssen.
I definitely find Mergentheim Castle very impressive. It was mainly built in the 16th and 18th centuries and is therefore a Renaissance and Baroque palace complex. What's more, the castle was built on the site of an 11th century castle. In any case, I'll be doing a more detailed tour again soon... ;-)

Das Schlo脽 Mergentheim hat es mir auf jeden Fall angetan. Es wurde haupts盲chlich im 16., bzw. 18 Jahrhundert erbaut, und ist somit eine Schlossanlage der Renaissance, sowie des Barock. Noch dazu wurde das Schlo脽 auf Grundlage einer Burganlage des 11. Jahrhunderts errichtet. Auf jeden Fall mu脽 ich da noch mal mir richtig viel Zeit im Gep盲ck hin... ;-)

Immerhin kann man auf dem Schulweg meiner Kinder schon die Vorboten des Fr眉hlings erblicken.
We also had an ice cream in front of the castle. The scoop of ice cream cost EUR 1.70. It's crazy how the devaluation of money is progressing. I can still remember well that a scoop of ice cream cost 20 pfennigs when I was a child. That would be 10 EUR cents today, not adjusted for inflation. Unfortunately, you can't say that the ice cream tastes 1700% better today ;-)

Vor dem Schlo脽 haben wir auch ein Eis gegessen. Die Kugel Eis kostet 1,70 EUR. Wahnsinn, wie die Geldentwertung voranschreitet. Ich kann mich noch gut daran erinnern, da脽 in meiner Kindheit die Kugel Eis 20 Pfennig gekostet hat. Das w盲ren heute nicht inflationsbereinigt 10 EUR Cent. Leider kann man nicht sagen, da脽 das Eis heute 1700% besser schmeckt. ;-)
