image.png

Good evening everyone and thanks to clove71@clove71 for pointing out this nice feature. As you can see, I am still super new to Hive and Splinterlands and looking forward to nice tips and everything.

Theme: Haunted Spider

Death splinter isn‘t something I am really into so far – actually I like water the most, which is probably because of the great delegations from foreveraverge@foreveraverge.
Thanks also to draicor@draicor , hope you don’t mind, that I have been inspired by your post. It really is amazing, just go check it out!

But I tried to do get it rolling, unfortunately this time without of success.
Here is the link to the battle:

Lineup & Strategy

Summoner:

Zintar Mortalis

image.png

Since I am very new to this game, most of my summoners are the ones from the starter deck. I took some of my allowance and purchased Owster Rotwell, but Zintar seemed more fitting, since my opponent wasn’t using a lot of magic in the five games before, but more melee attackers.

First position:

Haunted Spirit

image.png

If I’m playing death, this is one of my favorite cards to play. I love the heal on it and how balanced that card is. It is not too expensive, but has a good stamina and also nice attack and speed stats. And there are not many good options right now.

Second position:

Elven Mystic

image.png

This was the last card I choose, because I had four mana left and wanted another attacker. Since magic can hit from the first position as well as from any other, I really like magic cards.

Third position:

Skeleton Assassin

image.png

I like Sneak-Monsters and Skeleton Assassin is a pretty nice one. The four speed is amazing – except for reverse speed battles. It is a very cheap card with only three Mana cost, so it was one of the first few monsters I picked. It also works nice with Sand Worm, since both of them can help to really kill the “sneaked” monster.

Fourth Position:

Sand Worm

image.png

This is one of the few monsters I bought and I really like it. I got the idea from bulldog@bulldog, who pointed him out in a video long before I was playing. Unfortunately the price on it wasn’t as low, as it was that time, but still affordable. It is really slow, so sometimes it gets killed before even hitting, but I take the risk to get those five attack hitting.

Fifth Position:

Gargoya Devil (gold foil)

image.png

I rented some cards yesterday and man – the rewards on battles are so much better in the higher leagues, so I didn’t want to go back to Bronze III or even novice. And I thought that gold foil cards help more with the power rating. So that was why I bought Gargoya Devil. He is a decent range attacker and I love that Close Range! Makes him super valuable, because he can even hit, when in first position.

Sixth position:

Haunted Spider

image.png

To be honest, I haven’t played Haunted Spider too often before, which is mainly to the reason, that I am not so much into Death Splinter so far – and of course, I am missing the cards.
I put it in last position, since it cannot hit on the first position and so, if my opponent doesn’t have sneak, which happens quite often, there is a good chance, that it can get out some damage, before it dies.

Battle conditions:

image.png

The battle was a 34 mana battle with “Weak Magic” and “Stampede” as conditions, and only Earth, Death and Dragon splinters allowed.
So magic would hit shield first and the ability "Trammple" could be activated more often. Since I don't have any cards with Trample, the second one didn't affect me this much.

image.png

My opponent went for Earth splinter with Lyanna Natura as summoner, Stone golem in first position, Sand worm in second, Spirit miner in third, Goblin Thied (gold foil) in fourth, Earth Elemental in fifth and Barking Spider in last position

The Battle:

image.png

It was a really close fight, which was decided in the seven rounds, with one life point left on my opponents Spirit miner. In some rounds it looked more like me winning, in others more like my opponent winning.
Unfortunately my Haunted Spider was killed early on, so it didn’t have that great of an impact, as it could have had on another position.

image.png

So maybe next time I’m gonna put something more bulkier on my six. Too bad I didn't get that 12.9 DEC.

Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed it. I put some effort in it and English is not my native language.
I am still learning how this game works and only have very limited selection for cards. So I think there is a lot of room for improvement!

Cheers, ign: andy-plays
