"Guns don't kill people, people kill people."
Rationalization for keeping guns legal.
My response? Cannabis doesn't kill people.
I mean, literally. Cannabis doesn't kill people. It cannot be used to kill people. There is no longer any debate on that subject.
Research shows it can save people. Cure for some forms of cancer, seizure disorders, PTSD, depression, anxiety, decreases opiate use and overdose, treats ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, may help with asthma, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
The founding fathers grew hemp and indications are that they grew and smoked cannabis as well. Still illegal.
Get caught in the possession of a gun, you are set free.
Get caught in possession of a plant, you go to jail with a permanent prison record, probably lose your job and may pay huge fines.
Try walking into a crowded building and hand out joints to everyone you see. The government will call you a criminal. The people you hand them to will call you a friend.
Yet cannabis is still illegal under federal law.
The difference? Corporate profit.
