With Putin's speech this week, there are now fears and cheers for a new arms race.

It is clear that Russia has outdone us on nuclear technology.

  But not just nuclear.

If you missed it, in the last couple of years they introduced a new main battle tank that is hailed as the best main battle tank globally. The US was invited to a friendly competition involving several countries and refused to participate. That did not stop independent analysts from stating that the Russian tank is better than the M1A2.

They also introduced a new fighter jet. This has been declared the most advanced fighter jet currently in the skies. While we have the tragically infamous F-35.

Russia has been selling the S400 missile defense system to numerous countries. The US is attempting to stop those sales by means of threats and sanctions against countries that buy that system. If the country decides not to buy the S400, does Russia threaten them? No. What that should be telling you is that the US is fearful of the capability of the S400.   Meanwhile, for their own defense, Russia is producing the S500 missile defense system. They are wise enough to sell one system while keeping the more advanced system in their own arsenal.

There is no debate or argument that the US uses arms sales as a means of profit. But that tends to be very misleading. When you look at the facts, either the profits to our country are less than exclaimed or the weapons are sold at a loss. The only ones making profits are military contractors. Not the workers but the corporate elite.

We give over $90 billion a year to other countries in “foreign aid”. Much of that money is then spent to buy weapons from us. In some cases, they spend less on weapons than we give to them. So we take on debt to give them money, pay interest on the debt while our debt and interest compounds every year with no end in sight.

I have written and made previous videos on this subject before but let's revisit. There are certain things which are NOT included in the official WAR dept budget. Upgrading nuclear weapons now costs us $100 Billion a year. That is due to a commitment signed by Obama in 2016, committing us to spend $1 trillion over 10 years for that purpose. Did you even notice our military budget did not instantly increase by $100 Billion when he did that? No, because it is accounted for separately. Then we have covert ops organizations such as CIA and NSA. Then we have VA funding. None of these things are considered “defense spending”.   When you add all of these to the official WAR dept budget, we spend more money on our military than every other country on earth COMBINED.

Now Russia's announcement WILL result in us spending MORE in an “arms race”.

At the same time, Russia currently spends 1/12th the amount on their military than only our official military budget. In the past two years they have DECREASED their military spending each year.   They do  not have a separate equivalent to our VA medical system because they have universal healthcare, which we do not have. ALL their citizens have healthcare for life, military or not.

So, we need an arms race? In military, especially nuclear technology, we have already lost that race. Do not forget that Russia also has a working military and technological relationship with China.

The only place at this time where we stand a chance of winning an arms race is in how much we spend on our military. And we have been winning that race for years.

How much more do you want to spend on our paranoia?

Russia has made clear they have no intention of using their military technology to threaten other countries. Putin asked, “Are you listening?” It's clear many of us, especially those with profits to make on your fear, are not listening and do not intend to. Ever.

Putin used his speech to suggest sitting down and talking. Diplomacy. Being rational.

I wrote a few days ago, just before Putin's speech, of our addiction to fear/anger and hate. We are now in an addiction crisis. And our intervention has arrived.
