Santa Caterina market is a key piece in Barcelona history, built in 1845 in the place where it was Santa Caterina convent, and reformed in 2005 by the architects Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue.
After the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) it served as a supply center for the nearby cities in a period of scarcity.
