Hello everyone and here we are to tell you about this beautiful paradise called Holbox!
To reach the island you must take a ferry from Chiquil谩 which costs around 220 mexican pesos. A transit town based on tourism, the village port is very impressive!
Hola a todos y aqu铆 estamos para hablarles de este hermoso para铆so llamado Holbox!
Para llegar a la isla debes tomar un ferry desde *Chiquil谩 *que cuest alrededor de 220 pesos mexicanos. Ciudad de tr谩nsito basada en el turismo, el puerto del pueblo es muy impresionante!
Arriving at the port of a new island is always a special experience and you never know what to expect. Typically I'm not a person who sets expectations but for Holbox I can't lie.. I had high expectations and I felt it personally!
Llegar al puerto de una nueva isla siempre es una experiencia especial y nunca sabes qu茅 esperar. Normalmente no soy una persona que pone expectativas pero sobre Holbox no puedo mentir. Ten铆a expectativas altas y lo sent铆 personalmente!
Once you arrive at the port you start walking along the main street of the city called Calle Tibur贸n Ballena which allows you to reach the K'铆iwik Holbox Central Park. There are no cars on this island and the only vehicles are golf cars.
Una vez que llegas al puerto comienzas a caminar por la calle principal de la ciudad llamada Calle Tibur贸n Ballena la cual te permite llegar al Parque Central K'铆iwik Holbox. No hay autom贸viles en esta isla y los 煤nicos veh铆culos son los carros de golf.
For lunch I ate seafood pasta but being Italian I didn't expect such pasta with cheese because in Italy we don't use it with fish, but it was a nice experience, I was very hungry! Cost of the dish is 220 pesos. After more than two weeks in the jungle I wanted to pamper myself!
Para el almuerzo com铆 pasta con mariscos pero siendo italiana no esperaba esa pasta con queso porque en Italia no la usamos con pescado, pero fue una linda experiencia, ten铆a mucha hambre! El costo del platillo es de 220 pesos. Despu茅s de m谩s de dos semanas en la jungla quer铆a darme un capricho!
After I left my luggage at the hostel I went to the beach, always in the direction of the main road, simply called Holbox beach and from there I realized that the place was truly magical and beautiful, the Caribbean!
Despu茅s de dejar mi equipaje en el hostel me dirig铆 a la playa, siempre en direcci贸n a la carretera principal, llamada simplemente playa de Holbox y desde all铆 me di cuenta de que el lugar era realmente m谩gico y hermoso, el Caribe!
When it was time for dinner I went to eat some tacos in a really local restaurant I like called La Sirenita run by a lovely family. As always I have tried all the hot sauces but I still haven't been able to cry from the pleasure of chili!
Cuando lleg贸 la hora de cenar fui a comer unos tacos a un restaurante muy local que me gusta llamado La Sirenita regentado por una familia encantadora. Como siempre he probado todas las salsas picantes pero todav铆a no he podido llorar del placer del chile!
The next day.. hike to Punta Mosquito. We walked in a group led by a guide along the beach to the right of the main road and at a certain point we immersed ourselves in the sea to reach a line of sand in the middle of the sea. We were in paradise for an hour and a half and it was an unforgettable experience. In this case, images describe the moment better than words!
Al d铆a siguiente... caminata hasta 'Punta Mosquito'. Caminamos en grupo guiados por un gu铆a por la playa a la derecha de la carretera principal y en cierto punto nos sumergimos en el mar hasta llegar a una l铆nea de arena en medio del mar. Estuvimos una hora y media en el para铆so y fue una experiencia inolvidable. En este caso, las im谩genes describen el momento mejor que las palabras!
Holbox in the evening can be experienced both peacefully and also party. It is characterized by murals of local artists. During the day, however, life is more hectic and there is a constant coming and going of taxis. The roads have a sand surface which is also used to plug potholes in the roads.
At the intersection between Avenida Pedro Joaquin Coldwell and Calle Tibur贸n Balena I took a photo showing the map of the city with the most beautiful places of interest to visit.
Holbox por la noche se puede vivir de forma pac铆fica y tambi茅n de fiesta. Se caracteriza con murales de artistas locales. Durante el d铆a, sin embargo, la vida es m谩s agitada y hay un constante ir y venir de taxis. Los caminos tienen una superficie de arena que tambi茅n se utiliza para tapar los baches en los caminos.
En el cruce entre Avenida Pedro Joaqu铆n Coldwell y Calle Tibur贸n Balena tom茅 una foto mostrando el mapa de la ciudad con los lugares de inter茅s m谩s bonitos para visitar.
Walking through the non-touristy streets I found an excellent local BBQ which allowed me to eat excellent meals at reasonable prices and very plentiful!
Caminando por las calles no tur铆sticas encontr茅 una excelente barbacoa local que me permiti贸 comer excelentes comidas a precios razonables y muy abundantes.
And here are finally the beautiful sunsets I experienced on the beaches of Holbox and some photos of the beautiful beach of Punta Cocos!
