They say "The most beautiful thing you can wear is confidence." Whether your out in traffic or performing in a music video, confidence can be the defining trait of two people wearing the exact same thing. Or the guy who gets the chick with only a $10 outfit from Targets vs. the guy in the Armani suit who goes home alone. Confidence is a major key. And no where else is this better exhibited than in Chubbs Perry video "Lookin Good".
Chubbs Perry is an up-and-coming artist from Tulsa, Oklahoma who is blazing his own trail in the rap game. He has developed a loyal fanbase as well as gained the respect of his peers as he looks to become the "next up".
Lookin Good is the 2nd track off Chubbs Perry's latest EP project titled "Words From the Wise". which is a 7 track project produced entirely by super producer 2 Peece. Looking Good is that the new sound that has evolved from the trap beats and Chicago's Drum music.scene. The record incorporates hard hitting 808s, the trap 'Flute' that is an under appreciated instrument of hip-hop, and of course trap lyrics. What's most impressive about this track is the fact that it's so short at only 1:45, yet it's still content heavy. What is even more impressive is the fact that the video has so much imagery that is presented in such a short span of time. Something that truly shows the greatness of director King Spencer. The video is confidence at it's highest degree, as seen in the shots with Chubbs Perry with an opened shirt similar to a cuban drug lord. Combine this with his braggadocios lyrics and it's easy to see why this jams. It's Chubbs Perry.
She my mistress call my phone,
I'm at home I'm getting gone,
I was trappin' with the white kids,
Bitch thats Home Alone,
Here's a little message Chubbs Perry had to say about confidence:
