Vete pal Carajo

Venezuelans use many phrases and words of which we do not know their origin and one of them is the famous phrase * vete pal carajo * very used to cut a heated conversation in which one of your interlocutors forcefully expresses this sentence to terminate the discussion.

The origin of this phrase, which has a great burden of relief for the one who professes it, has its context in the maritime field in which the basket found in the main mast of the ships of antiquity was called carajo. place to which the sailors who committed some fault were sent as a form of punishment.
