Beach, Rain, and Mountains (Eng/Esp)

I found this trip to Quetepe Beach fascinating for several reasons. I took several photos along the way to capture incredible views—beautiful postcard-worthy scenes of eastern Venezuela that showcase a combination of beach, mountains, and mangroves. We’re very lucky to be able to enjoy these wonders without having to travel so far.

This time, as I was looking for the best angles, the sky clouded over; the blue faded and gray took over the sky. However, the landscape didn’t lose any of its natural charm. In fact, the natural setting resembles a lake because the green of the mountains is reflected in the sea—a mirror-like effect that’s truly striking.

I sat down on the side of the beach to reflect for a while; enjoying solitude allows me to have these moments with myself. It’s just as rewarding an experience as spending time with family. They’re different experiences, yet unique at the same time, because each of us seeks our own well-being from within and then shares it with others.

Esta exploración a playa Quetepe me pareció fascinante por varios motivos. Tomé varias fotografías del recorrido para atesorar vistas increíbles, unas postales preciosas del oriente venezolano en las cuales se aprecia una combinación de playa, montañas y manglares. Somos muy afortunados de poder disfrutar de estas maravillas sin necesidad de viajar tan lejos.

Esta vez, mientras buscaba los mejores ángulos, el cielo se nubló, el azul se disipó y el gris se apoderó del firmamento, sin embargo, el paisaje no perdía su encanto natural. De hecho, la combinación natural semeja a la visión de un lago porque el color verde de la montaña se refleja en el mar, un efecto espejo que resulta muy llamativo.

Me desplazaba lentamente y en mi transitar podía observar casas de playa faraónicas, de varios pisos y con diseño arquitectónicos muy modernos. Algunas estaban disponibles para alquiler de temporadistas. De hecho, había una familia completa en una de ellas, con niños felices corriendo por el lugar, en tanto los adultos se alistaban para preparar un gran almuerzo, una nota agradable en medio de las nubes grises.

Cuando se visita una playa con la misión de disfrutar, ni el mal tiempo daña el momento, al menos cuando estaba joven fueron varias las ocasiones que estuve bañándome en el mar con fuerte oleaje mientras se desataba un aguacero, fue una gran experiencia, aunque hoy admita que pudo parecer imprudente, pero la vida es un instante.

A un lado de la playa me senté a reflexionar un rato, disfrutar en soledad me permite estos momentos conmigo mismo. Es una experiencia igual de gratificante que compartir con la familia. Son vivencias diferentes pero únicas al mismo tiempo porque cada quien busca desde adentro su bienestar para luego transmitírselo a los demás.
