Greetings to everyone who lives and documents their daily life in this community. This is my first post here. My name is Anthony, and today I want to share a little bit about my day yesterday, March 6th, because not every day is easy… but we keep going. The truth is, I've been feeling a bit under the weather these last few days, with that kind of discomfort that doesn't completely knock you out, but also doesn't let you perform as you'd like. That kind of discomfort that makes you feel heavy, tired, as if your body is only working at half capacity. But oh well… I still have to get up, because responsibilities don't stop.
Yesterday at work was quite hectic, and not only because of what needed to be done, but also because of the responsibility I have right now. At the company where I work, I'm hosting seven interns who are taking their scaffolding course. Every day they arrive eager to learn, with questions, with that energy of someone starting something new… and of course, they're under my supervision. That in itself means keeping an eye on many things.
Explain, supervise, correct, show how things are done right. Because when someone is learning, what you teach them sticks. So I try to do it calmly and responsibly. The main activity of the day was maintaining scaffolding parts. Nothing complicated in theory, but quite a lot of work. The idea was for the guys to become familiar with the different types of parts, to touch them, to recognize them, to understand what each one is for, and also how to keep them in good condition. Because something I always say is that the job isn't just about assembling structures… it's also about taking care of the tools and materials that make the work possible.
So we were checking parts, cleaning, organizing, explaining details, showing how to tell when something is in good condition or when it needs maintenance. It was a pretty practical day for them. But I won't lie to you… it was a tough day for me. There were moments when the discomfort hit me hard. Those moments when you think, “I wish I could lie down for a while.” But hey, you take a deep breath, drink some water, pull yourself together a bit, and carry on.
I didn't do it to please anyone; I did it because I understand that when you have a responsibility to others, you can't always afford to stop. And this week, in general, has been quite overwhelming. Between work, teaching the trainees, the accumulated fatigue… everything feels a bit heavier than usual. But something also got me thinking yesterday. Despite the discomfort, the tiredness, and how busy the week has been… the work got done.
The kids learned new things, they got involved, they asked questions, they participated. And that also gives you a certain satisfaction. Because in the end, you understand that there are days when your body isn't at 100%, your mind isn't either… but you still get things done. Not perfectly. Not with the best energy in the world. But you get things done; that's also part of real life. Not every day is maximum productivity, not every day you feel strong… but keeping going also counts.
No perfecto.
