For me, the most difficult season in My country is dry season, especially the harmattan period.
Everywhere is always dusty and hot. No matter how much you sweep and mop, dust will still come back in the next one hour. My white clothes always turn brown because of dust. And my skin, if I don't rub plenty cream, it will start cracking.
Another thing that makes dry season hard for me is water. In my area, when dry season comes, water becomes scarce. Borehole people will increase price, and you will have to join long queue just to fetch water. Sometimes I will wake up by 5am to go and fetch because if you go late, there will be no water again.
Heat is another problem. My room becomes so hot that I cannot sleep well at night. I will be sweating even with fan. NEPA light also is not stable in dry season and fuel for generator is expensive.
How do I make it bearable? I try to store water in drums before scarcity gets worse. I also cover my food and water properly because of dust. I have my Vaseline and shea butter always close by for my skin, and I wear nose mask when sweeping outside to avoid dust.
Dry season teaches me patience, but I still prefer rainy season.
