A Powerful Lie
She didn't mean to let him die.
His blood gurgling "help me"
was muffled by her mind;
memories of her bruises,
pain,
and blood
... so many times.
She didn't mean to let him die.

This poem is based on a news story that I read online a couple of weeks ago. I've spent hours today trying to find the article with no luck.
I believe that the poem I wrote explains the real life situation clearly.
