Greetings dear Hive community, I hope you are feeling great. Today we want you to join us in this nice couple outing we had over the weekend. This time we were a little undecided where to go but fclore22@fclore22 had made the proposal to go out to a vegan restaurant that we both hadn't been to for a long time. The place is called vegattos, it is located in downtown Mexico City very close to the monument to the revolution.

We live in the eastern part of the city so it took us a while to get there. We always take the metro line A, and then metro line 9 to take line 2. Below are some pictures we took from the subway to the restaurant.

And finally we arrived at the metro revolution and went out onto the street to the restaurant.

Once outside we noticed there was a circus tent, we hope to go there soon to blog for you.

When we arrived at the building where the restaurant is located something very strange and stressful happened to us. The elevator wouldn't go up and we couldn't remember what floor the restaurant was on. So we had to knock again and they told us that the elevator only went up to the 8th floor where the restaurant was (below we can see panconcajeta@panconcajeta stressed out because the elevator wouldn't go up haha).

When the elevator doors opened, a beautiful mural with animals could be seen at the entrance of the restaurant.

We were both hungry so we decided to order a crispy burger (kentucky chicken style but with seitan and tofu) in a happy cat combo that included a soft drink, fries and a little toy for your cat which was a pillow with some catnip inside (catnip is a plant that cats love and get euphoric when they smell it or eat it). The hamburger was tasty although it was a bit expensive, $150 pesos, about $7.05 USD.

We finished our meal and decided to order a vanilla milkshake, which although it was warm we were surprised that it tasted very similar to cow's milk and cost us $75 pesos ($3.52 USD). 😙 A positive point is that they gave metal straws and not plastic ones so as not to pollute.

After leaving the restaurant we went for a walk around the colonia tabacalera to take down the food and in the process we took several pictures of some nice buildings, among them in the distance we had seen a couple of structures that overhung the landscape and panconcajeta@panconcajeta thought they were from the circus that was nearby. We went to investigate and in the end it turned out they were part of the estanquillo museum.

Afterwards panconcajeta@panconcajeta suggested we go to the monument of the revolution to take some pictures and eat some snow. For those who don't know the monument to the revolution is a mausoleum built by the architect Carlos Obregón Santacilia, to commemorate the Mexican revolution and was completed in 1938. It is very interesting because you can go up to the top and below there is a basement where they sell things, although the perimeter was already fenced off because of the March 8th march for women's day so we could not take pictures from inside.

And to end the day we decided to go for a coffee and tea at a coffee shop very close to the monument. fclore22@fclore22 ordered a cappuccino and panconcajeta@panconcajeta a citrus mango tea that we accompanied with a bread that fclore22@fclore22 brought called pan de feria.
