I was looking forward to having a good time this weekned after taking care of the necessary chores on my list and some other stuffs that only mummies has to take care of .
A whatapp message popped up on my phone and it was my friend Zamara. She sent a flier of an event that would be going down this weekned and my excitement mood was powered to hundred percent. It was a festival of drinks in which many of my favourite stars would be attending.
" We are already there baby girl! nothing will stop us from gracing this event especially when it's a stone throw from us" i assured her.
I was ecstatic because it's been long I graced such event. Motherhood and work have created a huge vacuum in my social life. It's time to have real fun, party and make new amazing friends.
Earlier yesterday I had made a list of how this weekned is going to play like but I forgot to check my calendar for other unexpected- must be welcomed visitor.
I wake up in the wee hours of this morning with a serious cramp on my waist.
Oh great!
I just knew that my weekned was completely ruined. Reminds me of the saying that man proposes but God disposes.
I looked at my weekend -to -do- list again and shook my head. There is absolutely no way I am going to achieve any of them. The only one I can manage to do is to take my kids to the their hair stylist Tolu and that would be because I wouldn't want them going back to school in the new week with an unkempt hair.
Hot water, Lipton tea and black coffee was all I took in the morning.
" Mummy can we go for an ice-cream treat?" my daughter asked.
" Not today pumpkin" I replied feeling sorry for not just them but for myself.
It was indeed a sad reality to me that I will not be attending the TOMBO FEST. My sickness comes with not wanting to be around anyone and my daughters are the only one i can manage to tolerate after which I will sneak into my room and lock the door for my own privacy.
I called Zamara and informed her of the situation and she assured me that there will always be a next time.
" Goodluck having fun without me" I teased
She laughed so loud and informed me that there are about six of them going and wouldn't notice my absence afterall.
" But i will miss your spice " she added laughing.
I hung up and covered myself with a duvet. The weather was freaking cold because it rained cat and dog early that morning. The last thing I heard before I dozed off was the girls giggling on the phone with their father.
Thank you for reading through , I hope to see you in my next post 馃榾
