Just few days ago there was a change of government in my country and the new government kicked off with the removal of fuel subsidy. It was said that the money is being needed to pay off numerous debts that was incurred by the past administration. This did not go down well for the citizens as the prices of fuel increased three times the previous price consequently making the cost of transportation to become more expensive. Knowing fully well that all this will in turn affect the prices of goods and services, i decided to rush to the nearest market to do a last minute shopping.
The market is the popular Sangotedo market and my focus was on groceries because food is life. Getting to the market, my customer was no where to be found and i decided to buy from someone else because i was in a hurry and i don't want to waste more time waiting for him. The shop i entered was being managed by a youngman named Emmanuel but was called Emma. This youngman happened to be so humble and down to earth that without being told i knew that there was something extra ordinary about him.
My plan was to buy half bag of rice and luckily for me i saw someone else that want to buy half bag of rice too. So Emma advised both of us to buy one full bag and he will help us to share it into half. According to him it will be more in terms of quantity than buying half bag separately. Half bag of the rice was #19,000 but full bag was #38,000. We paid for full bag and he helped us to share it and as he said earlier it was bigger in quantity.
Emma has an excellent personality that draws customers to his shop. One woman kept on emphasizing on how good he was. She bought many groceries from his shop and the way she sat down patiently waiting for Emma to attend to others before her you will know that she was indeed a loyal customer.
Emma'shop was soon filled with customers while other shops selling the same thing were begging for customers. I noticed that in other shops they have two small rubbers for people buying rice in small quantities and we all know that one is the real rubber size while the other is the one they use to cheat customers but in Emma's shop there is only one rubber; the right rubber size.
Emma will make sure he gives you a winning brand experience after buying from his shop by taking all what you bought to your car himself. He did that for every customer while others will wait patiently for him to return and attend to them.
