Good Morning.. my wonderful friends here at @asean.hive. How has your week been?
This is the local market here in Miri City. There are lots of stalls here that sell a wide range of fresh vegetables and fruits.
This place is near the Brunei Miri border.
This stall sells Petai ( stinky beans) that are used as a culinary ingredient in sambal sauce here in Malaysia. This stall also sells some dragon fruit.
Behind the market, there is an open air shopping centre where you can also shop for groceries, bags and many more.
This is one of Sarawak's most successful supermarkets, and it is called Emart. Emart is one of the best places to get cheap groceries. Usually during weekends, this place is packed with lots of customers buying groceries. At the moment, the government of Malaysia hands out around RM 100 per month for a lot of households or around USD 24. So, many families benefit from this food aid to come to buy groceries.
These are fresh. Sarawak is the land of fruits. You can find all sorts of fruits all around the city. They are usually fresh an affordable. One cup cost around RM 2.99 or around USD 40 cents.
Thank you very much for reading this post.
Have a great day ahead.
