There is something that being a mother exposed me to. The life of trying just about anything. It made me to not care about what I want only but what is best for my children. Knowing that they are my responsibilities fueled my drive and determination to go out there and work hard in order to provide for them.
I can do all manners of job provided it will give me the kind of money that I want and also a guarantee that it will not take me away from my family. Once we reach that agreement then I am definitely good to go. I don't like police work, but if you pay me enough I can go out there and give it my best. Today I saw two traffic warden and imagined myself doing that kind of job. It's not my dream job but if the cheque is heavy then I will hop right into it. You need a stylist? Ohh great! I will stay awake all night learning and in the morning I will go give it a shot.
But...
There is one job that I will always say no to even if they want to pay me with gold. Any job that have to do with handling dead body is a no no for me. Be it mortuary attendant,Funeral companies & homes and coffin companies.
First is that I am very emotional and i can't stand the sight of seeing a dead body be it a man, woman or children. My thought will certainly wander to the bereaved and I will cry my eyes out for them. I once saw a pregnant woman that lost her fiancee in an accident and even though I don't know them I cried with her. The thought of the baby growing up without his father, the woman being left alone and also the dead for not having the privilege to know his child were enough to get my handkerchief all wet.
Second is that I am very fearful. I detest watching horror movies and I have never bought any horror movie in my life. Death is a horrifying experience and a lot of people have not really gotten over the pain of losing a loved one. Staying near anything about the dead might trigger some pains that took me years to heal.
Growing up I have this fear and hatred for coffin makers. I found it hard to comprehend how and why someone would have that as a job. It's really sickening to think that they wake up in the morning and went to make coffin in anticipation that someone will die and a coffin would be needed. Dosen't they get afraid with thoughts of dead people in their mind 24/7. I have long gotten over my hatred for them because I realised that death is inevitable and someone must do that job but not even maturity was able to erase that fearful feeling I always experience whenever i pass through a coffin maker shop.
The mortuary attendants are to me the bravest people I know of after the doctors. There are many tales that were told about dead people and even though most of them were not true, one cannot dare to question the authenticity of these tales. One of them is that the dead do talk to each other in the night. What really are they talking about? How they died and maybe planning their revenge or how to punish the attendant for not cleaning them up very well.
I heard a story about the corpse of a wicked man that died years ago but was abandoned by his family. They never cared to claim his body for a decent burial and there were rumours from the mortuary attendants that that particular corpse refused to rest hence have been standing for years because he want to go home.
Scary right?.
