Like many other "Homesteaders" we are struggling too. We started off and was moving along and had some things going right. When the money flow from what was saved to get things started dried it was at a standstill.

Wo had someone to half butt clear the land, he did not get it rooted and it is growing back now, so have to almost start over there. We got the septic in and finally got a well in, no more hauling water, that was a job to do for six people. We do not have the equipment to clear the land or maintain it and we have to get someone with a tractor to keep the driveway passable.

We are clearing by hand and it sucks because with the knee problems I have I am not much use for that, 5 surgeries and do not want to have another because I tried to hard to help and screwed it up again. You will spend all day just digging out a stump and cleaning up the timber from on small tree you need gone to set up a build site or a garden.

I have thought about many times just giving up and it may happen as we have no resources of money to spend on anything like equipment and such. It is discouraging and painful to see your dreams fade because you cannot do it. Even worse to see that you thought you had friends until they realized you could do nothing for them and will not talk to you and cut you down to others. Those friends are supposed to be fellow homesteaders. Even fellow veterans call you a worthless piece of crap because you asked for help or tried to start a Patreon page. Oh Well, such is life!
