I collect rain water to use for watering my garden instead of having to use the city water when I need to water the garden. I have this storage tank that I fill from the rain collection barrels, I built a platform for it to raise it up about 4 feet off the ground. That way, I can use gravity to water the plants instead of a pump.
I'm in the process of putting fence picket boards around it to protect it from the sun, and to make it look a bit better for the people walking by on the street. Strangely enough, we get what I call "garden tourists" walking by the house when the garden is growing. Anyway, here's the street side of the tank. I've finished the front now, but I haven't taken a picture.
I built an adapter to hook a garden hose to the big valve at the bottom of the tank to use with my irrigation pipe, which I made from 1/2 inch PVC pipe. There's a subject for another post. :-)
