That's a good way to start a garden! A raised bed is easier to manage than having a garden on the ground, it's easier to keep the weeds out of, and it's easy to work in. If you want more garden space for growing, you can also try a large container or 2. It looks like you would have space for a couple of them in your garden area. I've been doing container gardening for several years now along with the rest of my gardening. I started container gardening because I kept seeing articles about it on the internet and wanted to find out if I could actually grow a decent amount of veggies in containers. It seems to work well for me.
