Hello, steemians! Welcome to my page!
I slept late today so I didn't get out into my garden as early as I could otherwise have, so I didn't get as much done as I could have. However, I did manage to get some planting done today. I finished planting the last 4 tomato plants in the raised bed, and I planted another row of potatoes. I wasn't moving very fast today due to having run the tiller at the community garden yesterday, but that's another story.
I started this afternoon with planting the last 4 tomato plants in the raised bed. The dirt is prepared and ready for planting.
The tomato plants are in the ground.
The marigolds are planted, and the tomato cages are in place. I need to get 2 more of the heavy duty tomato cages to finish this.
Then it was on to the potato planting. I planted more of the Goldrush Russet potatoes that I had left over from last year's crop. These are all smaller potatoes that have started sprouting, so they're ready to grow into this year's plants.
I dug the holes with a post hole digger, but I kept the holes shallow so that I won't have to dig very deep to harvest the potatoes.
The seed potatoes are in the holes here. Once the potatoes are all in the holes, you just cover them up and let them grow.
Here's a shot of the main garden. Half of it has been planted with popcorn seeds by my housemate, and the rest will be planted with rows of potatoes. The tall raised bed by the garden fence is where the tomato plants are planted.
The side garden has also been planted with popcorn seeds. This garden grew potatoes last year.
That's all I have for this post, I hope you found it interesting!
Thanks for stopping by my page to check out my garden update!
