It's been about a week and a half since my last community garden update, so I thought I would show you the changes in the garden. All of the planting is done now, and pretty much everything is growing well in the plots. I went up to the garden yesterday to water the crops and cut the grass, and I took a few pictures while I was there.
The Painted Mountain flour corn is growing nicely now. Almost all of the seeds sprouted, so I only have a few gaps in the rows. The Hidatsa pole beans are just starting to come up between the corn stalks now, so you can't really see them in this picture.
The squash plants seem to be doing pretty well, the little one that I wasn't too sure about is starting to show signs of growth now. Also, the first pie pumpkin plant is up now, and it looks like some of the other seeds are pushing up through the dirt.
All of the Norland red potatoes are up except a couple that probably won't come up. That happens with seed potatoes. Also, I'm starting to see the Adirondack Blue potatoes poking up through the dirt now. I'm going to have to start pulling dirt up onto the red potato plants soon, they're mostly tall enough to start doing that now.
That's all I have for this community garden update, thanks for stopping by to check it out!
