Hello, steemians, and welcome to my garden, eh!
This is just a quick update on my garden, because it's been several days, you know. :-)
The emmer wheat is growing nicely, it's about 6 to 8 inches tall now. It's supposed to get about 5 feet tall or so. You can see the blueberry bushes in the raised bed behind the wheat plot. They seem to be doing pretty well so far. I don't expect to get any berries from them this year.
The first 2 row of my red potatoes are up now. The 3rd row has a couple of plants coming up also. I don't expect to see the 4th row coming up for probably another week, those potatoes were being stored in the refrigerator, so the eyes were not very developed. The 3rd row was also planted with seed potatoes with eyes that were just starting, so those will also be slow to come up.
I got a bit more work done on the raised bed with the short wall behind it., I put boards up on the wall section that was open. I need to get another 6 or 7 more boards to finish that job. I'm using fence picket boards for this and cutting them to length. Here's the before picture.
Here's the after picture. As you can see, I'm using the board cutoffs to shade the big pots in the container garden so the sun doesn't heat them up too much. The soil gets hot if you don't cover the dark colored pots with something.
I also transplanted some of my strawberry plants that had spread into where I didn't want them. The strawberry plants in the pots are to possibly give away to someone if they want them.
Well, that's all I have for this post, I hope you found it interesting!
Thanks for stopping by my page and checking out my post, eh!
As always, feel free to leave a comment or a question if you would like.
