There is hardly any time when we are without some thoughts. At times, we have focused thoughts while most of the time they are like clouds, intermingled and indistinct. Sometimes these clouds are so intense and grey that we cannot even see many things due to the darkness. These kind of thoughts make us tired and unable to give our optimum performance on various tasks of life. If this state of mind persists for long, irritation and frustration is inevitable. In order to save us from jeopardizing ourselves from absurdity and abstractness of our thoughts, we need some outlet for them. Free Writing is the best outlet for taking one out of one's irritable state of mind.

Free writing is different from other forms of writing. In all the other forms of writing we need to think in a certain directions and are supposed to choose the best words for the expression. Then editing, trimming and rephrasing is required to make the write up look good. All these are tiresome and time taking tasks. On the other hand, free writing is a meditating exercise. While writing freely we don't need to care for appropriate vocabulary and correct grammar. There is no need of maintaining the right flow of topic. There can be sudden transition from one topic to another as it appears in your mind. Free writing is like a dandelion blown by the wind of thoughts. Where ever the thoughts go, the writing proceeds.

The best version of free writing is writing a personal diary. Your personal diary is the place where you are sure of not being judged any way by anyone. When we writing a diary, we become clearer about ourselves. It becomes easier for us to figure out our priorities. We get an opportunity to introspect that gives us a better understanding of our emotions and surroundings. We become able to understand what things make us happy or sad.

When we start pouring the jumbled and intermingled thoughts on a piece of paper, they start disentangling; and now we can make sense out of them. Free-writing is a method of knowing who we are. It is a way of finding peace within, as merit.ahama@merit.ahama says in her post My Life Without Hive

Hive has given me some kind of peace within especially when I write my heart out or share my experiences

Every time we write a page of diary, we not only get the clarity about our past actions but also we are focused about our actions in the future. Thus, it is beneficial do some free writing in order to let yourself free.
